I have been wanting to start a thread for my project ever since I found this site, but have not started working on my car until now. So here is the start of my 69 Roadrunner project!

I purchased this car in January 2006.A friend of mine knew where this car was for years and years, and took me to go talk to the owner and try to buy it. This car was last registered in 1977. It was up in the hills about an hour and a half from where I live. You had to have 4 wheel drive to get up to where this roadrunner was way up in the back country. I took all day and night to move other junk and get it up on some wheels so I could be dragged out of there.

Here are some pics I took the day I went to get it out:

One of the wheels came off "almost" while dragging it home:

Sorry not running yet. Here is what the engine looks like after cleaning off all the needles and nuts:

I am going to get some help to pull the engine next week and then start removing the suspension and K-frame so I can sandblast those parts.
The plan is to get the car running before spring, but things always take longer than I think they will!

Ya GOTTA keep that Raiders decal in the back window.... period correct for sure lol.

Go for it, you can do it, but keep patient. Were you lucky enough for the motor to be numbers matching? (And I woulda done the same thing, grabbed the car and went for it, if I coulda got it for around $3500)

It "looks" like it may be numbers matching. I wont know for sure until I pull it next week.

4speed! and Air-grabber! The car was factory undercoated HEAVILY. It looks really good underneath. Most of the rust came from all the leaves and stuff collecting on the floors and some in the trunk. The squirrels seem to have made a pretty good home out the interior and chewed up most of the seats and other stuff. They also used the car to store their nuts.

More pics:

Here is the coolest part of the whole car, the footprint gas pedal!

And here is whats left of the trunk after I drilled the lock last week:

I love it!! Gotta keep the original plates if you can! All you need is proof like a title or reg slip that shows the plate number. Judging by the first letter A this car was first registered in late 69 or 70. Not uncommon for blue plates to be found on 69 cars.

Looks like it's all there too! Talk about a time capsule.

I am shocked at how solid it looks, do you know how long it actually sat out where you picked it up?. Did the squirrels leave you a build sheet?

Very nice, and exciting, continue to share, there's a lot of nuts in here that like to look at car porno.
