Angrier

Mike, Looks like I'm going to need that set of louvers and a set of those new wheels that Mike M. is having built. I have a whole new plan for that other 71 Cuda sitting in the front shop.

car is awesome looking until you get to that ugly *** gas tank. bet it looks 100% better with a stock tank. yea i know it was set up to go 500 miles but its just ugly and ruins the good looks of the car.

Might have looked better if it had been painted black. My understanding is that he didn't want to give up the trunk space that he would have lost by placing the tank in that area. Plus the fact that it would not be good having that much fuel inside the car. I guarantee you that I would have done the same thing.

like i said, i totally understand all that. but it doesn't change the fact that its ugly as hell and in my opinion ruins the looks of the car from that angle. your eyes have no choice but to focus right on that thing.

Hey hotrod, perhaps something like this '70 with the front & rear effects added on?

That's a sweet car.
I also have a 70 that we plan to restore using the updated AAR type scheme. AAR hood painted to match, front spoiler, side exhaust, small rear spoiler, 6.1, 5-speed and leather interior. Sort of like sickfish only not quite so sick.
I'm so tired of doing the same old restos for my customers that I'm ready to go on to something wilder. However, I want them to be truly drivable. That sort of leaves out the 24" wheels, 1000+ hp engines, etc. Our superbird clone will have a 5.7 hemi 5-speed auto in it. We may change out the intake system to the 6.1 style for better looks and performance. The Daytona clone will be my last stock driveline type car for me for a while.

I've just about decided to go back to black. The red just doesn't scream "mean".

I knew it!.....Larry, once you go black,......you can't go back

I know you didn't ask yet?....But I vote Black, with Black interior, and red stripe/ wing.....maybe some magnums with redline tires,.......seeing it a clone?.........red 1970 year 440 engine call outs, on the hood?......maybe?

or......., how about all Black, with body color wing, add 70 style door R/T side scoops, and 70 Charger red upper and lower body pinstripes, redline tires on Magnums, red 440 callouts on hood?.......or.......or......or.....I could go on all day.......like we discussed earlier about Black car care, Larry,.....it sucks,......but O'Man....Black is so "sweet" lookin'..........you check out the post on Moparts.com....."show me your black on black cars"?......one look,...and your "hooked"

Back "N" Black.....Huh Larry?........

Heck, I'm even thinking about black on the other 71 cuda now.
Did I mention that it was 104 here today. Don't lean against the black car unless you want to end up in the burn unit.

Hotrod98
Sombody needs to make this thing a reality.
I think the front on the RTS Cuda would look great.
Maybe more Aero tho, with 63 Stingray type flip up lights.

Personally, I think that the 71 cuda grille was the absolute nicest grille ever made. It consists of 21 pieces not including the retainers and screws. It would be sacrilege to not use it. I have mixed emotions about the wing. But, since I have a couple of extra repros lying around, I just might go with the wing.

That cuda funny car reminds me of my 69 Camaro funny car that I owned back in the 70's. It was Dick Harrell's world championship car.

The 71 is my favorite too, so I couldn't use one of those. + too high in value, so a 72-74 would be have to be used.
After seein Musto's Angrier, and then your Cuda rendition it just hit me how cool an Aero nose Supercuda would be.

At this very moment it's 104 in the shade here in western Arkansas. I really need to go out and remove the carb from my Trans Am. My brother wants to drive it to Branson and it's idling a little rough. Anyway, it's just too hot. Even the fan that I have set up is blowing hot air like a heater.
Do you seriously think that anyone in their right mind would drive a non a/c black car with black interior on a day like this? It would be suicide.

I like red too, but it's just so complicated. Makes me wish that I had waited on the resto and then bought Craig's car. I'll make the final final decision when we get back from Branson. Then it's only a month until St. Louis.

You've got about six weeks until St. Louis. If you show up, I'll buy you the biggest steak in town my friend.

Rene, isn't it nice to have friends all over the world that you've never even met before? And, they're trying to feed you no less. :hungry:

just don't call me late for dinner.
