Hello from Wisconsin,
I figured I should post a few pics of my new coronet, and tell a little about it, before bombarding you guys with a million questions...

I'm switching over from a-bodies, and joining the dark side

Last summer I bought a '74 Dart, fixed a few things on it, but just sold it to my father in law to buy a '68 Coronet. Nothing fancy, 318/auto on the column, but I sure do love the body style... needs alot of work, but has potential. It came with brand new front bucket seats, and a matching cover for the rear bench. So one of my first questions is will an A-body (non auto) steering column work in a b-body car, because I have access to a column out of a dart that my brother in law is selling. It doesn't seem right having bucket seats, with a column shift auto.

I just got done shoveling the driveway (got to love those long wisconsin winters), so I could pull her out of the garage for a few pics since it was dark out when I brought it home.

Thanks for the great site
Matt

Yeah those pics are pretty forgiving. I'll have to take some better ones of the damage when we start on body work. the passenger side quarter in front of the wheel well looks like they used a nail punch to pound out some dents... then the drivers side quarter was hit, and they welded a patch panel on from the base of the roof across the top to the trunk... then filled it with mud...

but it has new tires, new gas tank, a supposed rebuilt 318 with headers (seems to run good), and new seats, new trunk floor, the floors and underneith seem to be real solid.

The trunk lid is pretty rough, from what I'm finding out it is one of the hardest trunk lids to track down, but if anyone has a lead on one let me know. My father in law is a former body man/ painter, and he thinks we can patch it up just fine, but if I could find a clean one half way reasonable I would probably go that route.

Thanks again

Looks like a good start.Welcome from another Wisconsinite.
