I am getting ready to replace the exhaust system on my 67 GTX. I do not want a loud muffler but i want something louder than stock that will flow better. What are you all using, Flowmaster, Magnaflow or something else ? Thanks

I put the 2.5" dia x 25" long Thrush turbos on my 71 Ranchero 351C and I really like it (I know, it's not a MoPar). It sounds like a factory performance car of the era and not too loud. I would even call it quiet inside with good interior insulation.

As a side note, the car had the 2.5" Flowmasters on it when I got it with 2" tailpipes and going to the Thrush system I noticed a performance reduction immediately in the mid range.

I'd get the 2 1/2" TTI setup with the dynomax super turbos, that would be the best setup out there, free flowing mandrel bent tubing with a throatier sound without being too loud.

you want more?, get some Magnaflow mufflers, I have these on my '69 Coronet (the big Hemi style ones) w/ 3" TTI pipes with their headers.

My 64 has 3" TTI w/ dyno max mufflers, can't wait to get this baby running.

x2 for my vote... thats what i have on the GTX (68), sounds great and not a hell of lot of drone @ 55-60mph

Yup. That's what I had on my Challenger

I love Walker Turbomax, they are quite with a nice sound but come alive when you get on her.

My buddy just put Dynomax mufflers with 2.5" TTi pipes and headers on his '67 Belvedere. He's very pleased, and the car sounds awesome to me. Definitely louder than stock.

I've had nothing but Flowmasters on my Mopars- '68 Charger, '72 Demon and '95 Ram. They've all been loud. Honestly, after hearing my buddy's Belvedere, I'd consider going the route he did.

Dynomax makes a quality product and I have noticed from time to time they have rebates on their web site.

I have cherry bomb turbo's. They have a nice tone at idle and don't appear to be as loud as flowmasters when driving unless you get on it

Im a big fan of flowmaster. You can get different series for how loud you want. I have an 02 dodge ram with a 4.7 and it has a flowmaster series 10 race muffler and it sounds AWESOME!! My 67 gtx Clone has super 40 series. And guys the Turbos your all reffering to are VERY VERY VERY restricted! We had them on our 67 charger,78 z28 and 72 nova and they all blew out! noticed once we went to the flowmaster the engine started to run lean because the engine burning the fuel hotter with the more air that was flowing so we had to step p the jetting. SO MY OPINION IS TURBO BAD!!! FLOWMASTER GOOD! FLOWMASTER MAKES IT MOFASTER!! LOL!

Seems to me I've read where the Dynomaxes flow as much as the Flowmasters do.

Also, I've never seen the innards of a Dynomax come loose and rattle around inside the case like I have a Flowmaster

I can't vote.. I have fake Flowmaster on my Cordoba, but I didn't buy them. They sound good.

I prefer "Magnaflows" or the "Dynomax ultraflos" for maximum performance (they're both a straight through design) and they're some of the least restrictive mufflers out there.
I have the 3" Hemi style on my Coronet W/TTI 2" headers and their 3" mandrel bent "H" pipe W/turndowns..I didn't get the tailpipes, because it's easier to drop the exhaust and get it out of the way to swap trannies/converters etc.

I have thrush welded mufflers on my coronet made by walker sound really nice not to loud not to quiet, look just like the dynomax welded i have had flowmaster 40s on other cars and they sound nice but i think they sound just a little tingy to me and just about everybody has them plus you can buy 2 thrush welded mufflers for the price of 1 flowmaster now thats bang for your buck..
