Hi Guys,

Another question for you....

I need to go to an internally regulated alternator for my 440 69 Road Runner.

I see that 440 source has a kit that has an "internally regulated lightweight and compact Denso 60 Amp alternator".

Are there any other alternatives I could possibly buy locally?

Thanks in advance!

Rob

I know you're wanting to do this on a 69, but you might have better luck here in electrical

Yes 440 source does carry that kit,new denso alternator,w/brackets,spacers and bolts, instructions, for $159.95, I know few people using them and they work really well.

I'm not sure what the cost would be to Canada though.
if you call there ask for Ed, he could give you a total with shipping.

There are a couple things to think about first...
1) Is this a cruiser or will it spend it's time at highway speeds?
Most alternators operate at rated output at 2300 shaft rpm. With most pulleys this is at or above 1700 engine rpm. So if you are going stop light to stop light and doing more idling, make sure you run the smallest pulley you can find.
2) What is the Amperage requirement of your vehicle?
If it is a stock setup with points, 60 amps should do it. But if you have an after market stereo system or an MSD ignition system maybe an overwound Power master will work better (90 amps or higher output).
