Least Favorite thing to work on a car.

Working on any part of the fuel system. It's so hard to get that smell of gas off your hands.

Ain't that the truth. When I was growing up gas smelled great. Must have been all that lead I was inhaling.:rolling:

i do not like working on front alignments(ball joints, tie rods).i've got a friend that has a shop that i can take my car to if i don't have time myself.he lost a 69 RR in a fire last year when it was in the paint booth so i try to help him when i can to put some work his way

Hate replacing the engines. Always seems to be the biggest cost and i dont have a garage so everything gets done outside in the dirt, mud, rain, snow, wind, sun, etc.

Clutch overcenter spring

Yea I remember finding out what one of these were during a 4 speed swap out in a 70' Road Runner. The dash was in place , must have spent a couple of hours muscling it & as it always happens, you ask a buddy to give it try & they get it done in 5 minutes. Kind of like getting a lid off a glass jar with someone Else's help.

I have to admit I did not know what I was doing, the technique makes all the difference.

1) Installing a clutch over-center spring with the dash in place.

New one for me - installing any "universal" exhaust system.

Changing Motor Mounts, and Heater Cores on a/c equipped 66'-70' B-Bodies.

but I enjoy working on anything under the dash, changing harnesses, instrument clusters etc.

I can take out most clusters in a 1/2 hr.or less.

changing plugs and wires on late 90s minvans 3.3 liter #2 plug behind alt ,under cowl, behind plentum, took 6 hours for whole job, 30mins for the first 5 plugs and wires

I hate being under any car that is not sitting on the tires. Call me paranoid, but I just get scared about the car falling on me. The last job I did was to change the front and rear tranny seals. We had to put the car up on both ends see saw style and throw under 4 jack stands. I added the two jacks too just because I get freaked out otherwise.

Those of you who just jack it up and get under it... You are nuts.

The worse thing that happens to me is that I fix something and the problem still happens. Replaced my truck's glow plugs 3 times this winter. ugggh.

LOL this is a PRIME example of stupidity at it's best...i wonder if he fixed it???

I wondered if the guy in the photo wasn't on the obituary page the next day. If he wasn't, it sure wasn't for lack of trying.

I hate laying on your back scraping undercoating, sandblasting, sanding, priming, painting the underside of cars. But I do love how they look when your done :)

Breaking off an exhaust flange bolt then breaking off another removing the exhaust manifold to drill out the first one then breaking off a head bolt removing the head to drill out that one. Anyone following this? Twenty minute down-pipe replacement turning into an all day event. (By the way it was a small block chevy.) Those types of nightmares you never forget!
