Garage find 70 Road Runner

:rolling: No doubt huh... Poor guy will be peacefully working in the garage when all of a sudden......."Lights in the Distance". "Great, here comes those f**ckin weirdo's from the FBBO again!!!" We'll all show up like the old spagetti westerners on a lynch mob.

You know the ones, where they show 85 guys with torches and guns but the sound reflects 3 guys yelling aimlessly in a padded room.

Hey Rat...we're coming man!

How did you know about my padded room?

Washed it this morning, and got some pics. This thing keeps on rusting even indoors. And the mice got to it, should have used Acme mice killer :rolling: its hard to se the damage to the front in the pics and the rear is just the way i got it, bondo and no paint. When i get it up in the air you will see more. And thanks for the kind words.

Full steam ahead, We've got you hustling now, you just stick with us and we'll have that car done in no time and will finish your sons car with the leftover parts!!.
Of course here I am on the computer when I could be out there working on mine, I have you to blame!!.

When i got this car it was a totaled:rolling: it looked like it hit a post about two foot high. Missed the hood, right down the middle, broke the grill the lower grill and smashed the filler panel. the bumper was bent almost in half got the lower core support and the radiator all the way to the fan and got both fenders not BAD but bad enough. ouch!! Ive got most the parts, not the filler and both the bumpers i have are bent. Im still looking for the chrome for around the grill. Now that most the free stuff is done, it dosnt cost anything to take it apart but after that.

Start searching Craigslist, if your persistant there are some great deals to be had out there.
List what you need in a parts needed thread and we'll keep our eyes open for the stuff.

Got the battery out of the RR, and put it on the charger at work, Its shot. The date on the battery is Jun 93. that battery is 4 months older than my son. The carb is at my friends shop for a good soak and rebuild. going to pull the 383 and tear it down next week. I figured it would be stupid to start it after sitting so long. I know it needs it any way, why risk it. I do know the 383 is NOT original, but it is dated early 70 and is 383 HP with no VIN pad im told its a warranty engine? ill get some pics after i pull it.

An excellent year RR and in a great color! You have my support!!

My buddy called, said he got the carb clean, I need to get a rebuild kit for it. I cant remember the last time i rebuilt this carb, back in 87 if i used a Holley kit or a jiffy kit. Eather way i did not get the little rubber part that covers the hole in the front fuel bowl. and it was bad then, and now it is shot. Any Ideas? Ill get some pics of this and the numbers, Its a Holley carb. and its the factory one im sure.
