Booster rebuild??

Can you buy a kit to rebuilt a brake power booster ? There cant be many parts inside one and I would think it would be simple to rebiuld..??.Also is there a part number on the booster ?And where can I look up the part numbers to see what it was off of ?

They make Power Brake Rebuild Kits. What make and model could make a difference. Auto Zone, Napa, ect. should be able to help you out:grin:

OK I will check that out.My Road Runner was converted over to power disc at one time.The car stops OK but the pedal just seems to be low on the floor.The pads,shoes,and master cycinder seem to be good.I hopethe right booster was added to the car when the conversion was done.

If I were you, make sure you have the correct vacume going to your booster, Hopped up engines have less to suppy the booster in some cases. Also you can pull a vacume on your booster with a hand-held vacume pump and see if your booster holds without leaking down. It might be ok. Kinda sounds like brake adjustment to me. Too much travel in the rear shoes will cause a "Low Pedal"

A bad Booster usally means a hard brake pedal, like when you are moving the car without the engine running and if it is leaking vacume the engine runs rough...

The engine is pretty much stock and I have adjusted the rear brakes up.Maybe I need to find a vacume pump and test the booster.I know power boosters from disc and drum brakes are different.I hope it has the correct booster on it.

Make sure the check valve where the line goes to the booster is operating correctly. Might be that simple
