Bruce is a super guy, when I lived in Ohio he did all of my machine work. He knows his stuff. I have the ole' "Kirby and Kompnay" 64 max wedge. I freshened it up last year and Dyo'd it, 701 hp. 13.5 to 1, small roller, untouched stage 4 heads, "factory carbs". Runs high 10.50's to 70's depending on air here in Az. What is the blue thing on the side of your intake, drivers side?

I will say hi to Bo for you if I see him. That sounds like a very nice car you have. The blue thing on my intake is a blow by valve as those intake tend to loose their lids if there is a backfire when starting. If you use one of these intakes you should get one of these valves from nitrous express. The the intake change will probily get you in the 10.2-10.3 range good luck this season.

Well said JD,
Charlie would not leave 1/100th on the table. All the enginering, best of everything parts and a #3000 weight those cars on an average are 8.70-8.80 range with around 980hp. Plus they twist them 9000. it just is not easy to get a true super stock style car in te 8's. I am not counting the pro stock stlye GT cars.

i'm just trying to figure this out since i dont really race all that much and haven't done this super stock racing much, but where are coming up with 4179 lbs of car?
in all my years of racing early b bodies, my full trim 63 plymouth with full interior, all steel, no gutting even with wiper motor and 2 batteries in the trunk with me in the car only weigh 3633 lbs. and i weigh 225 lbs.
my 65 dodge has 967 hp and goes 9.22 or better that was with dead old slicks and a nice headwind.the dodge weigh 3533 lbs.
i've never seen a early b body weigh over 3650 lbs. so either your a big fat slob or your scales need to be calibrated.
your hp numbers need to be rechecked. maybe your using koeffels happy dyno.:rolling:

it goes deeper than just pulling hairs. poppaj sold me a msd crank trigger and never sent me all the attaching hardware which was supposed to be all included. ad stated new just used for dyno pulls. i received the crank trigger but no hardware $107.43 worth of hardware missing, which i had to purchase extra from msd.
after numerous calls to poppaj, he kept telling me he sent out the hardware 5 different times and i never received it, i just went and bought it myself, so i could get it installed.so after poppaj's price paid and msd's bill, it would have been cheaper just to buy it new from summit or jeg's.

then i get harrassed by his son on moparts,saying they went faster than the fishboy. show me a video faster than 9.22 and then i'll keep my mouth shut, till then.......

send me the money and ill give back your crank trigger with all the new hardware and you'll have a complete crank trigger, and be done with it.

poppaj, it sounds like you kinda just admitted to sending him the crank trigger missing parts. He had to replace them at extra cost. So I would think the best thing to do to end THAT part of this saga is to refund him the extra he had to spend to replace the missing parts.

That would be the right thing to do.

At this point I'm not planning on adding any more to this thread unless it's really necessary

I have been racing super stock cars since the 70's and have made a ton of great friends. And NO I did not say I sent him a incomplete part, I said if he was not happy with it that would gladly buy it back. It was on a 655 motor that I dynoed. ALL PARTS from that crank trigger setup was sent. I also sent him a steering knuckle (new) that he needed to get running and did not charge him a cent. Every forum that you post on Chris you want to start some kind of Peyton Place saga, I am done even responding to this crap.
