I would love to hear what some of your regularly highway driven Mopar's are running on the track and what engine combo's you have. I'm talking insured and registered for highway use and driven to church on Sunday type Mopar's.

Only if you drive Shivvy's and Phords!

Had a '64 Polara 500, 383/440 heads/460cam/headers/456 dana. Would do mid 13's all day. Drove it every day to work and to the tracks on the weekends. What do you have? Any pics?

I have a 69 road runner with .030 over 440, It has 915 closed chamber heads with oversize valves installed. I'm running a Mopar 284/484 purple shaft and I have degreed it in with a 2 degree advance. The pistons are lightweight forged Weisco's giving it a compression ratio of 10.15 to 1. This cam bleeds off enough compression to allow me to run 92 octane fuel wirh no detonation. I have a Holley 850 double pumper with an Edelbrock Performer RPM up top. The trans is a TF 727 with a Cheata manual valve body and the convertor is a PTC 9 1/2 inch flashing at 3500 rpm's and the rear gear's are currently 3.55's. (I install a 4:57 rear gear for the strip)The car is full interior with no cage and looks fairly tame except for the lift off hood that allows me lots of clearance to run a decent air filter. I routinely drive her and somedays I will put a couple hundred miles on her. All the tracks in my area are 1/8 mile and her best e.t. to date on motor is 7:49 @ 90 mph (converts to 11:70 @ 111.60 for 1/4 mile). I have a 175 hp shot of nitrous oxide that will put her into the 6:90 range @ over 100 mph (converts to 10:76 @ 124.00 for 1/4 mile). I would post you a pic but this laptop I am currently using does't have photo manager. You can see the car on the New Member column under the heading New Blood. Your 64 Polara sounds like she was a real screamer. I'll bet you wish you still had it!!! ???

Nice set up! You bet I wish I still had the '64. Never even took any pics either. Just ask around town and everyone still remembers that one. If I only knew what I know now! That car was Factory Black with a Black interior and all the chrome with Cragar SS. I have only seen one other Black on Black...

Maybe you could find a friend who has a regular PC to download some pics on :)

Black on Black 64 Polara! I can honestly say I have never saw one. I can visualize it......... Evil Lookin and Shivvy stompin/Phord rompin! It must have been beautiful!!!

I will eventually get my regular pc up and running again and get pics for you!!!

Awww, come on now, I know you Moparites have got some horsepower out there!!! Let's read about 'em!!! I am NOT a cop!!!

383 w/440 heads lol

My (ex) 69 Bee was a numbers matching 383 auto and ran [email protected] in the quarter on Pro Trac tires (and using the O.E. 625 AVS)

My (ex) Six Pack Challenger ran [email protected] IN THE QUARTER, WAS "CERTIFIED PURE STOCK" weighed 3960 with me in it, and ran on repop Goodyear Polyglas tires

That's what I'm talking about! That Six Pack really rocked!!!

fried the tires till about 1/2 way through 3rd gear as well (4 speed car)

That car would run well into the 11's with some slicks!

Mine is a 1967 belvedere, 440, 4spd, 3:90's. Motor was .030, edelbrock heads and a small solid roller. Best it did was 12.28 @ 114. Had more in it, but I sold it this past winter and am building a 505.

If i remember correctly member 383man drives his car to work daily and this is from his signature here:

63 Sport Fury pump gas street car Max Wedge wanna be: 11.49 @ 116 so far !

Yes I do drive my 63 on the street all the time and take it to work on nice days. I love driving on the street and it is really alot of fun to drive to the track and race and then drive home while most guys are putting their cars on trailers. Mine is a basic 440 that I make look like the 426 Max Wedge without the crossram. Its .030 over (446) with stock bottom end using KB quench pad pistons that get me 10.0 comp with my 906 heads I ported. It has nice quench as I can run on 92 pump with 38 total timing and no pinging. I run the MP .557 cam and the Holley Street Dominator intake with an 850 DP. I use 4.30's but with a fairly tall 30" tire and I have a Dynamic 9.5 converter that drives great on the street and works good at the track. Its alot of fun driving my 63 all the time and even more fun when I can pull in at any gas station and gas up. I ran my best the last time out last year of 11.49 @ 116 as it averages 11.50's and 60's on average tracks. I plan to try an open spacer the next time out in place of the 4 hole one I use now. Ron

Thanks for the kind words. :)
