I bought this car about 6 months ago for 500 bucks. Its in pretty rough condition but its worth restoring I think. I just got started taking the car apart finding all the bad stuff :Groaner: which there is alot. I have got some good doors for it and new quater skins that came with the car it came with alot of extras.

Damn looks similair to some of the projects I've worked on over the years.

looks like the car is in pretty good shape from the pictures.are you going to keep the flat hood on or put on a bulge hood?

The bulge hood it came with factory was with the car but completely rusted out all around the outside edge. I am attempting to make a custom hood. Here are some pics of the mold i am making using a flat hood, spray foam and plaster. I will coat this in fiberglass and use that for my finish mold.

should look good when you get it done and inprimer/body color. can't wait to see it.

Looks like a great project, I always liked that stripe on the side of these Chargers, great deal for $500!. This one will be fun to watch and will be awesome when it's finished.

Sweet. Nice work. Question do you prime the inside of the sheet metal before welding it to car?:edgy:

Yes. Just where i can't get to it after its on. I use an self etching industrial ppg primer that we use at work it is some good stuff.

are you going to paint it the same color when you get ready?I always liked that color with that rally stripe for some reason.

I am thinking I will paint the top half black and the bottom blue. Red cars are bad luck for us, every one we have own was totaled heres a pic of the last 1.

It wasn,t difficult just had to make sure I didn't cut to much off and that it was in the correct place (measure twice cut once). The hardest thing was rebuilding the inner fender well.

Air bags and seat belts save lives! My daughter came out with only 3 stiches.

glad to hear that she came out of that car with just a couple stitches.

nice car, I purchased a 1973 Charger for 1500.00 ,. It runs and needs rocker panels and lower rear quarters., rear leaf shackle. Maybe more surprises once I look deeper.I plan to post some pictures soon. My first project car. Doing it in my two car garage . I would like to be able to drive it during the summer and work on it during the winter. Any tips and clues about rear quarter repair, replacement would be helpful.
