Hi All,

Happy Memorial Weekend !

Can someone tell me if there's a trick to pulling / removing these terminals out of the connector? :edgy:

There is is small metal tab that is part of the terminal end which springs out to catch on the plastic block. There is a tool made to help release the tab, or sometimes you can release it with a very small screwdriver.

From what side do you try and get to this release? The wire side or terminal side?

you can easily squeeze them together with needle nose pliers and just pull them out - spread them out slightly before you re-insert them

Yup. From the side you are showing, just give them a gentle squeeze with a pair of needle nose pliers.

Does anyone know where the tool to undo these connectors can be bought? Also would like to buy some new connectors. Thanks.

A couple of wires pulled out of what is a new harness but it was purchased by previous owner. I need to pull 2 of the connectors out of the plug connector and make the wire connections and install them.

Does anyone know where these connectors can be purchased and also the tool to pull them out.

Thanks.

Try year one Joe. They have an exclusive on harnesses for our cars. They may be able to direct you on how to get a connector. Unfortunately these parts are hard to find. A last choice might be to convert to a connecor for both sides that you can get.

All you need to get those out is a small needle nose plier. I took mine
out that way. There is a collapsible slot on the connector that runs in the direction of the wire. from the terminal side sqeeze the terminal together and sort of collapse it horizontally. The wire will just slide out from the other side.

Good luck! -Jeff

I bought the tool at an auto parts store, but don't remember which one. It is a silver dollar size disc with 4 different terminal end tools coming off the side for different applications. I would call Year One for the connectors, they should know where to find them.

Check out Painless Wiring. They have 4 to 15 quantity terminal end kits. Go to their site and search for "terminal end". I forgot to look, but maybe they have the tool also if you want one.

Finally got the terminals out, spread the crimp area and inserted the wires and recrimpt the terminals the best I could. Still feels like it could come apart. Any reason why I couldn't put a little solder on them?:edgy:

Joe- I picked up another one of the tools I was trying to describe earlier. $9.50 in the automotive dept. of a Farm & Fleet store.
