Hi Guys,
After all, I am deciding to keep my 72 RR but now I want to rebuilt it myself and get some power. It has comp cams and all but I just want to open up and change the gaskets and stuff and get a nice set of headers. Can someone be my guidence? This will be my 1st time.

Also, anyone point me to the right headers I should get and for a good price? I need something after market and something that will give me some juice... Any help will be appreciated.

I just saw a little puddle of oil sitting on the edlebrock intake, I think I need to open up take the demon carb out, the edlebroak intake and change the gaskets?

Help me guys... advice and how to's will help please

I don't know a lot either but from experience DO NOT get hooker headers. I have a 73 Charger and they fit terrible. From the answers here people with RR's w/your year have the same problem. They are REALLY tight and have clearance issues w/steering box, starter to just name a few. Although they are pricey I went with TTI and have NO PROBLEMS. There are alot of posts on the site about this very issue. Good Luck! "There is NOTHING like the sound of a BB and smell of burning rubber in the morning"

I'd have to say TTI too,I've had quite a few brands of headers on my cars over the years and TTI's are the best out there, I've had a set of 2" TTI's on my '69 Coronet w/a 440, for the last 6 years and they fit great, you get what you pay for basically.

I second the tti headers. You do get what you pay for. Good (low) price and quality do not go together. TTi and pay but you have no problems getiing them on, leaks from warped flanges and so on.Good luck on the rebuild.

I would also like to know the best fit headers for a 71-72 Road Runner.Mine has TTI's but I do not like them because of the fit around the starter,No way to get the starter out with out removing the header.I like the fit of the Headman and Hookers on the 68-70 B Bodies but this is my first 71 B Body.....

i've heard only good things about TTI's, havn't heard tons about them on big blocks but the small block guys love em

do you plan on taking the starter out on a regular basis?,
I've had my 2" TTI's on my car for almost 7 years now, and have yet to change the starter, when and if I do I'll lift up the motor and drop the header, big deal.

I used to use Hooker's and Hedman's,until TTI came out now you couldn't pay me to go back!

That happened to me too...it was the valve cover gaskets, changed them out, used the silicone (?) (orange) ones and been dry ever since!

I would go for the TTI headers i installed them on my 73 RR and they fit good. I bought the 3 inch exhaust to the tips and the longer mufflers and they are not noisy at all - they are more on the quiet side. Bought the headers ceramic coated and they look sweet
