You guys might remember I had to sell my B's at the beginning of the year to buildup cash reserves for my company. In February I sold a 72 340 Road Runner and very reluctantly; my Dark Red Poly 67 GTX.

Well business is doing pretty okay and we just graduated our youngest daughter from college last week-end. So I took back some dough and bought this, a very well maintained 1968 GTX, 440, 727 Auto, 3:23 Suregrip. An LA built car (no buildsheet as of yet), with very old 14" Firestone Wide-Oval redlines and OEM road wheels in the trunk. Options include dual mirrors, p.steering, tach-dash, rear defogger, AM Radio, fender mounted turn signals.

Some interesting stuff about this car:

I bought the car from an estate at a very good price (which is why I'm back so soon). The previous owner was a 62 yr old gentleman that died while shoveling snow on Dec 09, 2009. That happens to be the SAME day my Dad died back in 1977. While decoding the car's fendertag I noticed that the build date of THIS car is C09 (Dec 09, 1967) - what?!?!?! That's not all - the casting date on the intake is 8-21-67 (my 8th birthday!), and to top it off, I bought the car on my 28th wedding anniversary. Weird... but cool.

The re-paint is a very old laquer job (I think) of the original RR1 that will need some attention down the road but for now I'll enjoy it as it is.

I look forward to getting back into it with you guys.

Welcome back! You've got a great looking car. A '68 GTX was our first old Mopar muscle car, but it wasn't nearly as nice as the one you bought. Enjoy the summer with your new ride.

Great looking GTX. I like the color, you do not see that color much. I had a 68 hemi charger that color and have not seen another in that color. Very cool color though.

Thanks GTX!

I saw that car on craig's, if it's as nice as it looks in the video & pics; that's a deal!

Take care!
