I have a holley 80508s carb i am trying to mount on a stock 383 manifold. I have a square bore to spread bore adapter-but it doesn't seem right. See the photos.
I can't be the first guy to try this. Does anyone know of an adapter that will work? I prefer not to change the manifold.

If i turn it the other way i can't bolt it to the manifold (Cap screws). I need to use the inner holes to mount plate to manifold and outer holes to mount carb to plate

Since you don't have a spreadbore intake or carb, that's the wrong adapter.

No personal experience with those stock intakes, so I'm shooting in the dark on this. Check out Transdapt p/n 2090 (http://www.jegs.com/i/Trans+Dapt/969/2090/10002/-1). This may get you what you need, but you need to measure the ports on the intake to be sure. My limited understanding is that your stock intake has a small bolt pattern and your Holley carb has a wider/larger bolt pattern. While the ports may be the same size (you need to verify), the carb won't physically bolt up to the intake. The 2090 should take care of that for you.

Good luck!

You have the early intake with the narrow AFB pattern. The adapter referenced above should do the trick.
