I have a 68 with a 22 inch stock radiator, 383, no AC, auto trans, street car. Have a fresh 440 (warm) to go in. Does anybody have experience with the aluminum 3 and 4 core direct fit type on ebay? Round tubes, flattened tubes? Sounds like they are all from china and each guy says his is best?? Do you think a 22inch will cool?
Thanks

The factory made some RB cars with the 22" radiator and wouldn't have done it if they expected cooling issues. IF your radiator is in good shape, it should cool just fine.

There has been lots of discussion on this in other threads. IF you have your radiator recored, DO NOT go with a higher "FIN COUNT" than O.E. This will hamper the air flow. d.a.m.h.i.k.

right on!!

I've always run the factory A/C water pump (8 blade) and a factory 7 blade clutch fan,w/shroud,I'm running the original 3 row 26" radiator.

I've had plenty of big block Mopars w/ the 22" core, and it's never been an issue,
w/the above water pump/fan set-up.

AC water pump has a 3.5" diameter 6 blade impeller. The non-AC water pump has a 4.38" diameter 8 blade impeller. Some people would use the smaller AC water pump since it reduces power loss. AC pump w/ non-AC pulley will not flow well at idle (stop and go traffic).

I have a mildly built 383, eddy 1406 (very lean from factory, used kit to richen it up), auto, no ps, pb, or ac. Replaced the radiator (factory rad was long gone) with a 3 row brass one from some company out in california. So far, it hasn't gotten over 200. Still waiting on a hot summer day and some traffic.

Correction, I have the 8 blade (Non-A/C) water pump,w/the factory pulleys,

Thank's for the info, "Crunchy Frog"!
