I have a 73 Satellite with slap stick auto - has "slap stick" on bottom of gear shift indicator. Bought a 73 RR - does not have the "slap stick" logo, just gear indicators. I thought all were slap sticks ? Some had the writing, some didn't ?

the 74 RR i had had the T handle slap stick. it didn't say slap stick but it was.

Hey Sputnik can you post a pic?
My 74 Charger SE (727) is a t-handle slap stick it has the Decal.I have an E-body shifter it's the brown knob type it does not have the slap stick decal.

My buddy's 77 Charger had a console shift with a plate that looked identical to a slap stick, but did not say "slap stick".

It did not work as a ratchet shifter either, like a slap stick does.

Bet lots of folks might have figured out that they could use a shiny 75-79 plate to freshen up their 70-74 console.

EDIT- How cool is a factory ratchet shifter??!!

Even the GM "his and hers" wasn't a true ratchet.

Most others still turned the column!??

Don't know about "lightning rods".

It definitely functions as a slap-stick - probably lens changed at some time ?

I'll ask my bud about it this week see what he thinks, he has a 71 runner and a 70 TA...I'm sure the 71 runner has the decal but I have no clue whats in the Challenger.

Ok been digging around here is what I found out so far.....

1966 - 1970 "B" AND "A" BODY AUTOMATIC CONSOLE SHIFTER LENS
"NO SLAP STICK DECALS". And will not fit 71-74 B&E Bodies.
66-70 B&A no decal.jpg

1970 "E" BODY AUTOMATIC CONSOLE SHIFTER LENS.
"NO SLAP STICK DECALS". And will not fit 71-74 B&E Bodies.
70E no decal 2.jpg

1971 - 1974 "B" & "E" BODY AUTOMATIC CONSOLE SHIFTER LENS.
"HAS SLAP STICK DECALS"
71-74BE decal Lens.jpg

I also found that most people have no idea that the shifters are all different.

Dude - you have too much time (but good job) if it weren't for your posts in the 71-74 forum - it'd be pretty quiet - retired ?

I found a guy selling 2 T-handle style shifters today at Moparfest, they were both out of E-bodies and neither had the Slapstick decal. The guy didn't have any other info...Grrrr lol.
