Does anybody know how many 67 chargers were made with black vinyl tops?

Oh it was an option but you will not find any figure on how many were produced with it. Chrysler did not begin keeping track of the options or colors by percentage of all particular models until 69 or 70. Even then the option percentages were for the entire model line such as Coronet, Charger, etc.

Another thing to consider is that dealerships ordered alot of cars without options up until the mid to late '80's and added them at the dealers. My dad made a good living putting vinyl tops, pinstripping, etc. on new cars at an Olds dealer.

Yup, that's true but the dealers were supposed to log in the info on each vehicle that was 'modified' by the dealer. The question is if that info was saved...
