Just this past week I had a teenage girl back into my 69 road runner while I was fueling at a gas pump. My passenger door is pretty much destroyed. The question I have for you is: do I seek a factory door that is almost certainly going to need some work or do I go after a new reproduction door that the manufactorer claims to be the same thickness and an exact copy of what was produced in 1969?

Repop only if you have to...Lots of parts for sale in this forum...I,d buy the real deal....You can,t go wrong..Go VOLS!!!!

You can get a used oem piece for cheaper then the repops, there are still a lot of `69/`70 b-body doors out there. I am going to be picking up a lot of parts this weekend and I know for a fact he has several sets of `69 doors, let me know if you need one, shipping wouldn't be to bad if you have a Greyhound station close by.

If you get a 70 door, then get an early one so it doesn't have the crash beam in it. (it's just lighter)

70 doors had a crash beam in them? Wow, I didn't know that! I'd opt for the 70 doors then, heavier, but, safer.

I agree with everything he said.....except go vols.....Should say ROLL TIDE!
:)
Seriously, b-body doors are easy to find, fairly cheap, and most you see are still in good shape.

Thanks to all! I have my sights set on a great used OEM unit and there is a good chance I will pick up one at the Mopar show just east of Nashville this weekend. As for the football comments-I'm not into college sports. I love NHRA Drag Racing!!! GO Top Fuel HEMI's!!! Now there is something we all can relate to!

Just remember, if the lock nob is at the extreme rear of the door, it's from a 68

Thanks! I have a 68 GTX door on the drivers side. Only a real Mopar Man knows the difference or even notices the difference!
