Quick!!! The top hose is the inlet to the radiator-true or false?

i gotta vote nay.

not an expert by any stretch, mind you.

im thinkin' gravity...inlet on bottom, water pump sucks it through the rad up to the top of the pump...

Pump sucks it off the bottom, through the motor and returns through the top line. That's my theory and I'm sticking to it :)

false....water cools in the rad going down...and cool water enters engine....so the bottom is the inlet....!

Coolant flows from the top down, and that's 100% correct. No ifs ands or buts.

This is a small block, but i'm positive they're all the same.

the way you worded the question is a bit confusing.the top hose is the"inlet to the radiator",but it is the out let of the engine.the lower hose would be the outlet of the radiator or the input of the engine.that is why the top hose is hard when hot(after water pump)and the lower hose can collapse(suction of water pump).hope that clears up the confusion.

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....WAIT ......... he is right...the top hose ISSSSSSSSS the inlet to the radiator (thats how ya worded it) NOT the inlet to the engine. ( but im sure we all knew what he meant )

You guys cannot ding me on a poorly worded question. It says "the top hose is the inlet to the radiator". I am not throwing it out. Your answer sticks.

So the top hose is the inlet to the radiator. Thanks guys. I needed to know this in order to correctly position the temperature sensor into my radiator fins.

Have a problem getting Dinged? Try Ding-away. Easy to swallow formula that puts all the dings behind you.
