Skip White Distributor... trust me! not spam

Its weird to say, but i would feel better about it if it cost more. They look too good to be true. I wonder how aggressive of and advance curve they have and can it be adjusted.

My engine builder has used several of these from Skip White, he says
they work great! And if there is a problem they take care of it.

Those are from Pro Comp Chinese Electronics.

im curious as to what differences you have noticed ?:headbang:

Well having a stock 273 its not huge power gain like a race engine lol
but noticable power increase, smoother running, faster start time and a good fuel eficiency increase. The price really does make it hard to believe. You dont need your ballast resistor after installed also.

As far as reputation goes, my friend says he uses Skip White products alot. Im only relaying my pleasure with this simplified electronics conversion.

You have to bend the tabs inside in order to dial in the correct timing total, mine came with 50 total! no stupid spring kit was going to fix that. They come out of the box fully ready to race the 1/4. Yes they are chinese made and they don't tell you that until you ask but mine is still working fingers crossed.

Hmmm I never heard of these guys, but need a dist for my ponty w a 455. For $48, geez I cant get an oem reman for that

I put one in our Grand Wagoneer, (GM big cap HEI style) it works way better than that motorcrap unit that was stock. Couldn't beat it for the price.

just because something can be linked to a name brand, but dosnt have the name, dosnt make it shady.all generic stuff is made by a name brand company somewere.see it alot in the tire industry, same design tire with different name means they dont pay the royalties for use of the name brand and associated advertising.sure it is not always true, but often times is.

Well I just ordered one for my 455 Ponty... we'll see how it goes...

good luck, Im glad this helped some people save some $$

Gotta add another positive result to the thread. Can't beat the price...and only a 'motor head' notices it's not stock...oh, and it works great.

With the old distributor, my idle varied by 100+rpm each time I returned the throttle, making it very hard to get idle and timing correct, so I dropped one of these in my `66 Belvedere II Poly 318...no more problems!

I must admit, I could have been the "1 millionth customer", as mine did not work right out of the box. BUT(!), to attest to their customer service...A quick phone call to these guys and we were trouble-shooting over the phone. Short of it...they sent me a new module, I dropped it in the distributor, and was off and running...smooth as silk. Haven't looked back since.

They tell you you can simply cut out your ballast resistor and the wiring. Well, there's a little more than that. You have to connect the wires that go to the resistor together...be it a splice or a jumper. What I did was to gut the resistor from the backside and solder in a piece of 14 gauge wire in it's place, making it the 'jumper'. Hooked everything back up so it all looks original. Now, if the next owner wants it OEM, all they have to do is replace the ballast resistor and drop in an old distributor.

Unless you're a fanatic about having points...or purely Mopar parts, this has to be the easiest (cheapest) way to add reliability to the ignition system.
