It was inevitable! I outgrew my home shop years ago. This is not just for the cars/toys but also for my woodwork, concrete and metal fab. 3500 sq ft is HUGE compared to the 700 I've been wrestling with not to mention the lack of power.
Junkyard Dog Enterprises, Inc. is full on!

Way nice! I too am looking for a bigger place, when my own cars get pushed outside b/c of lack of room, time to move up!

That's a great looking shop. I wish I had somewhere like that to store our toys.

Awesome.

Buy or lease?

Thanks guys, I'm pretty fired up about it!
I leased, makes the most sense as a business as far as being a deduction and then I don't have to pay for costly repairs that are inevitable too!

woooooooooooooooooooo!!! hot damn!!! looks like a sweeet set-up Matt!!! congrats brother!!!

Looks good, but it's too small.

They're always too small. 3500 sq. ft. or 35,000 sq. ft., doesn't matter. Have fun filling it up.:hello2:

Looks like a great shop Matt! I see even more car finds you seem to be capable of finding, cool..

New Space

Good for you Matt!

Of course the post noting "it's too small" will be spot on one of these days as we all know how stuff accumulates & expands to fill all available space!!!!

But at least then you'll have way more "neat stuff"!!!!!!

Congrats,
- Randy C.

Thanks again guys! It's amazing how much time I have wasted transitioning between projects because of limited space. I work with wood, steel, concrete and the car thing and it's not unusual to be working with all this stuff in the same week. Some weeks I bet I will spend a full day, cumulatively, rearranging 700 sq ft so that I can weld steel, cut wood and pour concrete for my client work and that gets frustrating! No more of that, now I can have seperate areas for each process and have more then 1 project car active at a time, all under 1 roof!
The inadequate power at my home shop was also becoming a huge issue and making it nearly impossible to be efficient.
The first thing I will be needing for the new space after the beverage fridge, of course, will be a 2 stage compressor. All I have to say is Craigslist here I come!

Looks nice Matt, but the way you operate I have a feeling it will be full of nice project cars in no time.

Makes sense;may you be blessed with a good prop owner who will take care of issues. Infrastructure looks solid;proper Detroit-area industrial building. Close to home to minimize commute time? I know you LOVE Detroit traffic:angry9::angryfire:

I am friends with the owner, I do a lot of work for him. This is his 3rd building on this block and he was nice enough to offer it up to me before he put it on the market. It'll end up being a win win stuation for both of us.
