I am swapping out the 318 poly in my 66 Coronet for a 383. I have all the kickdown linkage rods from the poly. Can I just buy the correct throttle bracket for the 383 and use the existing rods from the trans to the throttle bracket on the 383? My manual for my car gives directions for adjusting the kickdown linkage, and lists the same directions for the 318 the 361 and 383 as all being the same. Both transmissions are 727's I have a big block 727 and the original 727 trans still bolted to the poly. Thanks

Small block to big block are usually different and even going from a 2 bbl to a 4 bbl will make them different....

thinking of doing same as you , have 66 dodge 500 w/318 poly.Don`t know much now but will be learning and watching your post, hope to learn some.thanks, good luck with the build.

My first engine swap was a 66 Plymouth with the poly and went to a 383. Keep in mind that the 727 (if you have one) doesn't fit the BB but the drive shaft went back in. BB motor mount brackets need to go in but the K frame will NOT need to be changed. Can't remember if I was able to use my old radiator or not but iirc, both of my hoses were on the driver's side with the BB but you can swap the pump housing for a passenger side lower hose if you need to. Exhaust is different of course but I ran headers once the BB went in and I also kept the 318 torsion bars. Wiring is a bit different under the hood but not so much that you 'have' to replace it all....and my kickdown linkage was all different too. I just modified what I had.
