I just sold one of these carbs, exact model! There are three stages on the accelerator pump. You will see three holes drilled in the lever that actuates the pump. If memory serves (and please correct me if I am wrong) but the bottom hole allows for the most travel of the accelerator pump thus more fuel, the middle hole is kinda middle of the road, and the top hole is for a shorter shot/less fuel. All you do is pull the little retainer clip off of the accelerator pump rod, move it to whichever hole you choose and re-install the clip. Bringing the rod closer to the pivot would give a stronger shot with shorter duration. Also make sure the float setting is correct as the newer Eddy carbs don't have the inlet check to let fuel in. I know on the AFB's the float setting is 7/16". And one more thing the accel pump plunger height should be checked and adjusted after moving the rod. If the cup is too far out it won't seal right away and you won't get a good shot.
if your having an off idle stumble go to a smaller pump nozzle. most people want a larger nozzle but thats the wrong way to go for a driver. i took a .024 nozzle and drilled it to .028 to replace the .032 (?) in my friends 427 corvette with an 800avs. definitely helped. there was somebody, you might do a search, who was making stronger springs for the plunger (not the rebound spring).
