got the tranny about 2" from block and now it will not budge.

Any idea's on what is holding it up?

Maybe the torque converter is sliding out of the trans and it's not completely separating from the flex plate?

Or, you may have it jacked up too high and the transmission housing is coming in contact with the transmission tunnel (floor pan of the car).

maybe raise the back end of the car up and try to tilt the engine back to give you a little more working space.

Did you remove the inspection cover on the front, and 4 torque convertor bolts? If so, use a small prybar to separate the convertor from the flexplate. Like said above- be sure the trans crossmember is unbolted and lowered so the trans doesn't hit the firewall.

If you got it 2" from the block, I think the transmission jack would probably be the thing holding it up. 2" from the block should be a straight drop down.

Oops, forgot one of the flexplate bolts.
