Hello everybody, from Texas. I'm an Army medic/overseas contractor currently on leave. I'm going to be honest and start off by saying I know absolutely nothing about muscle cars. I once had a 92 Mustang when I was too young and had to sell it due to too many wrecks. Fast forward 15 yrs, I just recently bought a 1969 Roadrunner from my wife's aunt. Her husband died and she was selling it but wanted to keep it in the family. I got a sweet deal on it with the understanding that I will never sell it. All I know about the vehicle is: it was a 383 and the owner upgraded to a 440, posi trac on the back and new headers. It was clearly made for the 1/4 mile. This is going to be an ongoing project with my son. I want to get it off the track and on the street for occasional driving. I'll post some pics of it, I'm open to suggestions and advice.

Got it, Sure Grips. No posi tracs. See, I told you I was a rookie. Now, do I keep the sure grips? I plan on taking this car out on the road for occasional driving. I'll probably never take it to a 1/4 mile track.
I also plan on getting disc brakes up front and getting rid of the drums. The brakes are currently shot to hell. I have to push that pedal all the way to the floor and it still takes a while to stop. Thoughts?

Rob Is Right! No Chevy Stuff! Where Were You A Medic And With Who? I Was At Bliss, Hood, And Sam Houston To Become A 91A10 With The Cav In '69! Welcome Soldier!

I was with a PsyOp unit out at Camp Bullis, TX. We did a deployment to Iraq in 2010. I came back home, went on leave and went back to Iraq with a contractor. I'm still in the IRR and want to do one more tour to Astan before we pull out. Who knows, maybe Syria or Iran?

No. You take out the sure grip and send it to me. lol Yes, it'll work well whatever you use it for. Sure grip. Singular. LOL As in sure grip unit. Nice car dude. Welcome to Mopar.

LESSON # 1....... you just bought the most popular car in the Mopar world...... Mopar you say? " what does it mean " you ask???

Move

Plymouth
Approaching
Rapidly

that concludes todays lesson,,,nice car...youre going to love it! i guarantee it!

Ha! I like your t-shirt slogan. Car is pretty nice too:grin: Got any shots of the engine bay?

What Mopar really means is, it's a comglomeration of two words. "Motor" and "Parts". Motor Parts was the name of the Mopar parts division back in the 20s and 30s. Sometime in the mid 30s, it was changed to MOPAR.

What do you need to change to drive it on the street, looks street ready to me..nice car.another one for the red team.

Welcome to FBBO! Nice car! Looks like you have the firepower to protect your vehicle as well. Enjoy the hell outta it- you've come to the right place, this board is amazing with many people who know your car down to the last bolt...
