Check out this ebay listings and see if you think it will work:

It is a 20 gallon tanks, when the 1975-78 Cordoba's used 25.5 gallon tanks, but I think it might fit. The main thing is the thickness of the tank and the location of the tank straps. There is a phone number on the listing and you can call them to see if they know.

The other thing that is different is in 1977 they started using a rollover vent that was located in the top of the hump that had the vent hose hooked to it. But I think you can just hook up the hose to the nozzle that is on this tank. You just won't have the rollover protection.

Check and see if a tank from a 74 Charger will fit. Check a seller on Ebay that goes by Tamaraz

I went ahead and ordered the 74-76 satellite charger tank.I will post if it fits ok.

Seems like they changed alot of things from the 78 to 79 models, even the power window switches are different .

I'm sure the reason they went to a smaller tank in 79 was because that was the first year for the old CAFE fuel economy law on automakers. They had to show improvement from 78 or else pay big fines. The EPA required fuel mileage to be rated with a full tank of gas. So, a smaller tank meant less gas, which meant less weight, which meant the mileage improved slightly. They kind of cheated.

I understand for the smaller tank was dual exhaust to fit on the 300 models, I have 78 Cordoba is original paint no rust been in garage storge since 2007sitting waiting for a tank,so hope the smaller tak does work and I will get one then

Yes, monty is correct the smaller tank did come with stock dual exhaust from '75 up and when we installed duals we installed the smaller tank because the exhaust fit so much easier.

Well the 74 satellite-75 6 cordoba tank came in.I installed last night after work...It fit perfectly.I used a new sender for the 74 tank and a new fuel filler grommit. The tank was made by spectra and was a very nice piece. Thanks for all the help and advice. If anyone has any questions about the install pm me.

Any chance we could talk on the telephone about this fuel tank installation?

Terry I am in the process of changing the tank on my 78 Cordoba any chance of getting a process of what you went through as in parts and where from?

CR21A is the 1974 fuel tank... I changed my trunk floor to a 71 - 73 floor eliminating the hump completely and went and got the CR10B tank which is almost identical in profile and capacity even uses the same straps and is WAY cheaper than the one with the hump back lol

I have a tank from a 79 in great shape. Let me know, John (928 ) 474-3560.

As another option, I had my original 78 Magnum tank cleaned, dipped, and coated by Roppells in Louisville. Lifetime warranty.
