I'm originally from West Texas, and that's where I initially had the Charger. I'm a senior in school at Annapolis, MD right now though so the car is up here with me.

btw @ Ron73: PM me if you're interested in a used but immaculate pistol grip for your auto shifter; I've got one with the trigger lever, traded up for a RestoRick model.

Glad you are able to have your pride and joy with you. I lived in the DC area for a bit over 2 years but am in San Antonio now, here's much better :grin:
 
Well Iv been lurking long enough. Some of you have helped my out on parts getting it back up and going so thank you. 72 Roadrunner, #'s matching 400, 70k original miles, original color (cheap repaint on it tho) runs strong, just chasing some ignition wiring issues.

I tryed restoring a 71 roadrunner in high school in my parents back yard which never came to fruition. I vowed to own another and the time has finaly come.

:hello2: If at first you don't succeed, try again and keep trying! Congrats on the successful second try - and great to see a fellow Mopar/Bird owner with a blacked-out engine bay. We get a lot of grief for that here on FBBO... :icon_fU:
 
Real nice car! Yep, i have the black out myself, some say its a Chevy thing, i didn't realize that.. I did it cause i like them, oh well, Honestly though, i have been entertaining the idea of changing it when i pull the engine out! Ive been thinking it would lighten up the bay a little and just to change it.. Still up in the air with that one.
 
^ I kinda like the flat-black treatment because if anything gets scratched, I can just blast it with a shot of rattle can. Plus it forgives the rough spots on the cowl wall and fender tops. Local paint shop (excellent guys who love classics) gave me a price of $3K to pull the engine and blast/paint the bay to body color! :eek:

Well if it wasn't for the engine coming out, and thats next summer, i wouldn't even be thinking about it. But i would paint it myself, im a long way from the professional work ive seen here but im happy with my work, i know im almost done with this type of thing but got to do what you have to... :)

I thought I saw you in my driveway taking pics.....mine looks that yellow when out side too..I cant say I don't like it!!!

not just here , that is in the Mopar world a NO NO and considered a chevy thing . :headbang:
 
Awesome cars guys! Here are a couple shots from this summer - A rebuilt 440, new dash pad, dash insert and chin spoilers start the looong list of stuff done this season.

i bought aftermarket chin spoilers..but they don't sit flush...did you have to massage them to fit?
