Keep Original????

I tell you what I will go and get that 73 Road Runner and trade you for your satellite. Just a thought.

If you don't buy that roadrunner I will!!!

Also I love that gold! Don't clone it buy a rr hood and have a satellite with a mean hood. I did that to my old Sebring plus and that car drew a lot of attention.

Or sell it to me! I'm right next door in Maine!

Years ago I had a 74 Roadrunner with 360/4 sp with 27k miles. The car was very rare (i think 347 produced) and it was a "survivor". The original paint was faded on the rear deck and drivers rear quarter, and the stripes were cracked. But the car still looked awesome and would win a trophy everytime. At the time I felt like I was the "gatekeeper" of this original rare mopar and didn't make any changes to the car other than a set of Crager ss. I sold the car in 2004 and about 6 months later the new owner emailed me and said he had the car painted - he said he couldn't stand the faded paint and cracked stripes. I remember I was blown away that this guy would so this - and thinking - doesn't he understand that this car was a survivor and when he purchased it he also took on the responsibility to care for it and preserve it forever? :angryfire: However, at the end of the day it was his car and he could do whatever he wanted with it.

But that was then (I think I mellowed with age ).

So I guess, you can preserve a car, not drive it, leave it stock and store it in a climate controlled garage until the day you die - then someone will buy it, modify it and drive the wheels off it... hahah

I'm thinking of a stock looking Satellite, not so much a clone. My plan is (was) to install the Roadrunner driveline and leave the apperance of the Satellite as is. I would want it to look as if it came off the assembly line with a pistol grip and when you open the hood, you would see a stock looking 340. If it was 1974 and I wanted a cool Satellite, I would want one with a 340 or 360 4 sp. I love the color too!

I'm only about 1 1/2 hours from Portland, I will be heading up to your neck of the woods in a few weeks to see Skynyrd and ZZ top

Ater seeing those pics I would leave it alone for the most part.I think I still may want to put the 340 and 4 spped in it with a good 8 3/4.But I think I would leave the body and interior alone.Any pics of the outside of the car?
