Got this on a Facebook feed. The color choices are okay (#1 is the clear preference for the 80+ people who've weighed in on it) but check the tire/wheel combo... :angry1:

Yeah,
That is going to cost the customer $$
I'd say about $120K
Anyway, I'm not a "FAN" of the "Chip Foose" design/ 2 tone color effects.
But: "Live and let live"
Or: "To each his own"

Im not one for the wheels myself, I do like the first one and the paint scheme... I know im old school and these are different times so i guess its a givin on the larger wheel size with not much tire on them but i think it would be a hard taste to acquire.

x2- no rubberbands

I'm diggin' it, set up right, I like the look of bigger hoops on older muscle cars but I would limit myself to 18's to preserve some rubber between the rim and the road. When I drove my old Hemi Satellite convertible from Texas to Columbus a few years ago, the 17 inch billet magnums stayed home in the garage and the 15 inch steelies went on for the trip. Nowadays though, it might be easier to score a 17 inch tire on the road than a 15 if you needed one in a pinch.

The rubberband look is lame- and it proves whoever is building them has no idea of getting power to ground- with no sidewall flex, the tread is trying to hook the car.... but I am sure, this being the internet, someone will have to say how 245/40R22's hook way better than N50 15s...one last word- Lame...

Foose suck's , nothing but a Boyd wanna be and a copy cat.

as far as i'm concerned matt(S) are for in front of doors, some even say welcome

Is it just me, or do all Chip Fool design all look the same. All 2 tone, half & half on the color combos & all have the same stance. He can draw good but I think his designs are overated. Just my opinion.

Ok, I must have read it the wrong way, I thought out of the two shown, which one would be the better looking one lol, with me yes the top but as far as Foose, some of his stuff i like but his wheels ive yet to see a set i would want and i imagine i wouldn't want to know the price at all. Times have changed, The younger crowd grew up with different cars then i did or some of you i expect, im still one that loves Keystone classics the best, newer kind would be the Torkers, i think there called, any remember the old chrome reverse, looks like the old steel rims only chrome and the back ones deep dish but still steel chromed! I had a set of those and always did like them. There is a lot of rims i like, but wouldn't want them myself, and different wheels look different depending on what car there on, steelies with dog dish on a Coronet, beautiful, 73 satty, not to me, and i don't like any rubber band you all call them, tires.

Foose did a 69 RR vert once, Hemi 4-speed and put these wide black stripes on it and i just didn't like the looks at all, but just as in everything, we would have a boring car show if we all liked the same cars, deigns, colors and wheels and tires.. Small rant over :) sorry bigredbird...

No problem Ron, I remember an episode of Overhaulin' where Foose "fixed" a guy's Road Runner ragtop, did the usual two-tone paint and pimp wheel/tire combo. The guy was in tears, literally, but not about the paint or wheels -- he busted out the waterworks when he opened the hood and saw his new Hemi.

Thats the one!! Loved the insurance dude, especially when he said look buddy im comin over to talk to you eye to eye LOL... That was a good one!

Way low, depending on driveline and chassis setup, it's gonna go way over 250

Ever met him? Ever met his dad, Sam? Ever meet Boyd and see his "quality" of craftsmanship? Ever loose a good portion of your savings because a fat, bearded guy told you everything was fine and cut town with his secretary and a briefcase full of cash the next day?

Kind of a soapbox thing here, but wether or not you like Foose's designs shouldn't translate into a personal assessment of the man himself. He grew up under his dad's tutelage. Then went on to design school on his own dime.
He pretty much designed the cars that you give Boyd so much credit for. Then started his own shop when Boyd was going (went) under. He never spoke badly of Boyd, although that courtesy wasn't returned. He's done very well for himself because he is good at what he does and is very business savvy.

The important thing is this, I've met and worked with the man. He is one of the good guys. Probably one of the best this hobby has. He takes time out for people, and he makes the time for his family. I've seen this guy in action and he is tireless. Not only can he draw, he CAN build. He knows how it works and what it takes. He's earned what he has and hasn't been handed anything. You don't have to like his designs, but that doesn't mean you should be degrading to him.

I do not like the custom look or the gawdy wheels that are ever so present on Foose's work. Those huge wheels have never looked good to me on anything and customizing takes away from the look and feel of what the car was in all its glory. Sometimes I think I don't like these new age customs because just because I'm getting old (46) as I will confess I really don't like today's music either or the politically correctness that has taken over and silenced our moral compass.
