Year One is killing another classic Mopar

next thing it will have 30" wheels and they will call it a classic resto mod

I like Chip Foose. And I could have said it better then Rev.
Chip is not in the Hot Rod Hall of Fame for nothing.

Lol talk about taking it personal. I respect the guy and his accomplishments. I never met the guy, but just expressed my opinion. Bad publicity is good publicity as far as that goes. All his work is ok. I think people make him out to be a god. Just a man people. Well sorry for stirring up trouble. Just like to see the cars preserved. As long as they don't get crushed or scraped, let the chopping commence.

Is it just me, or do all Chip Fool design all look the same. All 2 tone, half & half on the color combos & all have the same stance. He can draw good but I think his designs are overated. Just my opinion.

No it's not just you but you forgot shaved door handles. Everytime I see shaved door handles on a muscle car I think man that was a lot of work to mess up two good doors.
I like Chip Foose the man I just hate his style.

He couldda picked a whole lot better person to copycat far as I'm concerned. I never cared for Boyd either, may he RIP.
yup and boyd totally hated him when he quit and when out on his own .

I dont care for chips designs for the lost part , but chip as a person is a great guy , nice , friendly , genuine ,charitable . Boyd was just an *** . My opinion anyway .

I do not like the custom look or the gawdy wheels that are ever so present on Foose's work. Those huge wheels have never looked good to me on anything and customizing takes away from the look and feel of what the car was in all its glory. Sometimes I think I don't like these new age customs because just because I'm getting old (46) as I will confess I really don't like today's music either or the politically correctness that has taken over and silenced our moral compass.

X2

I didn't mean to stir up anything. Again I apologize if I pissed anybody off. But back to the topic, I would choose the first one out of the two. It looks more like a mopar and I always liked the flat black hoods of the AAR's and TA's.

P.S. I like both Boyd and Chip as people and I respect their contributions to the car world.
Just wish someone would reinvent some Ed Roth stuff:headbang:

No need to apologize. Personally I thought Boyd was a stand up guy. You know, like a walking erection with ears. Met him a few times, once was even a job interview. (Like twenty some odd years ago).

I'm with you on the first color scheme. Looks more like a Mopar. I wonder what color they'll do the engine bay? :blob1:

I have to agree I too don't much care for his taste in mods either nough said. I dont need to bag on him or his cars there plenty more to work on drive and enjoy for all.

Trends tend to thin out the availability of cars.
In the 60's- they drove them like they stole it, and go a flower power paint job.

In the 70's - they got air shocks and fenders flares and huge hood scoops, and still drove them like they stole it.

In the 80's- they got chopped up making them Pro street and super charged, found in junk yards simply because Direct Connection was raping people to rebuild an engine.

In the 90's - they got lowered to the ground, and what was crushed or smashed up was starting to be brought back to life.

In the 00' to present - Pro touring is the in thing.

It's good to see I'm not the only one who dislikes the big rubber band wheels. They always remind me of a wooden wagon wheel like you would see on a show like Bonanza or Gunsmoke. I worked with a younger guy a while back and he loved that big wheel look. I told him how I felt and then told him I feel like that grumpy old man that hates new stuff. The older I get the more traditional stuff I like.

Thats what street rods are for. Leave our cars alone.
