removing undercoating

Never even gave the asbestos thing a thought. I will wear a resporator for the rest of the removal. Thanks for the heads up FLY.

Also was unaware of the asbestos, definitely will use a respirator from now on. I also use the needle gun to remove my undercoating
(only loose and for welding) but it works pretty well. If you aren't careful you can damage the sheet metal but it definitely scratches up the paint...expected.

I think i spent $15 at harbor freight for my needle gun, I'd pay 3 times that for how much easier it is with that.

I am having this same problem, but mine is still soft and gooey? 1979
Magnum! They filled in some of the cavities with grease? It helped? Has no
rust!! :D
Any ideas on removal of this gooey krapp? Thanks

Best way is little torch and wide flat putty knife

THIS ^^^^^^

Obviously some of yall ain't seen some of the undercoating I have. 90 PSI sandblastin OR a 3500 PSI pressure washer would touch it. Sometimes the torch and scraper is all that works.

needle scaler works great
on sale at harbour freight for $20

I tried the air needle method and in about 30 minutes I had the whole spare tire pan stripped. Thanks so much R/T for posting the video. Dave

You can thank theswede, he's the one who originally posted the video. I just passed it along. Glad it worked out for you. I'll use the method too!
