They made up a great story for the car and for many years people believed it with no questions asked. Then the whole collector car fraud and re-body issues came up and people had to start answering the hard questions. The creator of the car gave the magazine the real story and had a good laugh about the history of the car. They paid a lot of attention to the details including custom fender tags.

The car is out of the Sioux City, IA area. One of it's first shows was in Onawa, IA in June of 2004. Here is a picture from that show. Notice there is no decal on the wing yet and the older style license plate.

Technically the 66 Charger is the first aero and spoiler car, which I suppose could be called a wing.

Just not that wing.

At least it's well done, If it had been raced in NASCAR it could have been made to seem official lol

Ive seen this before.. Its starting to grow on me some.. I do like the color combo.. i take it, its for sale.

That one or one like it was at the Woodward Dream Cruise several years back. I'm sure I remember posting pics of it on this site. I like it.

isnt that the same paint and stripping as bobby isaac's # 71 daytona that won nascar champ in 1970?i know the stripe is the same(except for the daytona lettering)the wing is a bit big for that car.only reason the wings were so big on the real cars was so you could open the huge trunk lids.

It was at Dream Cruise this year (2012) as I was along side in traffic for a few minutes. At first I thought what the.... Then I thought it didn't look that bad. Very different for sure.
