How tough is it to change out the body bushings ? Any tricks or pics ? Assuming poly is the way to go.

There is somebody out there makes them in aluminum. Back in the day Mopar made them out of cast iron and they used them on the Police Packages.

I just bought a set of aluminum K frame isolators and trans crossmember mounts from firm feel. I have swapped rubbers out for poly before. Try to soak the nuts/bolts inside the frame with a good penetrant before trying to loosen them off. I sprayed mine every day for a few days before I attempted it because I was paranoid. The nuts inside the frame are just tack welded and if you snap the weld it will be quite the headache as the nut will spin complete, and you'll have to cut a hole for access. My impact never went near these bolts.

The bolt diametres were changed during the 73 model year. Make sure you get the correct bolts.

Thanks for the tips - I heard the aluminum can be a little too firm for pleasure driving (vs competition) but that makes little sense, since 73 was the first year for the "quiet ride" suspension on these cars in the first place. But, I have also read that jumping from a 72 to a 73 there is a noticeable difference in feel (would that be comfort, handling or both ? Dunno). I'm good with poly replacements unless I hear more votes for aluminum and why ...

Yeah I couldn't say. I've never ridden in a 71 or 72...mine dont run. But I can't see it hurting anything or being too rough. I only see it performing a lot better.

I heard the same with aluminum verses the poly for normal driving.. I cant see going wrong with the poly...
