As the weather cools down I’m running out of warm weather and still have a lot to do on my Charger before applying the DP90. PPG says to apply at 70 F or higher. How low can I realistically go before temperature becomes an issue? Is 60 F surface temperature of the metal too low? If so then what is the limit? Since DP90 is solvent based, and I know other similar high performance coatings can be applied in lower temperatures but take longer to dry. Any help is appreciated.

No min on the tech sheets for the DP90, but 60* is getting a bit low in temp. At 60F, I would recommend you use the DP402 (faster catalyst) and the DT860 reducer. You should have no issues that route with your temp. Wouldn't go no lower than that myself.

Good luck

You are at risk of having the epoxy not catalyse properly which is a big problem! If the manufacturer says a minimum temp... Follow it, they know best...

Thanks for the info. I re-read the data sheet. It's not a min temp but drying times at 70 F. I've called PPG they said temperature doesn’t impact the material but will take longer to dry. They informed me that for every 15 F under 70 F it will double the drying times. There is no low end temperature limit but they don't recommend application of the product below 55 F. They said either the 401 or 402 catalyst will be fine, but the 401 will bond to more surfaces.
