1973 javelin AMX go package

That looks just like a car, minus window tint, that went blowing past me on I-95 in North Carolina back in the early 1990s. We were headed south, and this guy just blitzes right past us and I was driving a police package Crown Vic. I saw he didn't have a tag on the car, and told the wife he sure was asking for it by speeding like that and having no tag. No sooner had I said that than two NC state troopers went whistling by. Busted!
About 10 minutes later we get to the NC/SC state line and there are the troopers stopped but no sign of the AMX! I figured the guy would be in handcuffs. Since I was with a Sheriff's Office in MD at the time, I stopped to see if they needed a witness or if there had been an accident, and it turned out the guy in the AMX would drive into NC once a week or so, drive full bore until a cop spotted him, then turn around and head for SC and try to beat them to the state line.
I asked the reasonable question of why they didn't just call the SC guys and ask for assistance, and found out that would be a serious breech of barrack pride to call another state for help. If they couldn't catch him, they didn't want SC to catch him!
That was one fast AMX.

My first car was a 72 Javelin SST- blue with vinyl T tops. I have had a dozen or so Javelins or AMXs. Those 360s make a bunch of power!

actually HUNT2ELK....i posted that one month BEFORE i got my Javelin,and mine was a hell of alot worse than that one.....and it is now 98% complete.....and i STILL got in trouble...HAHAHAAAAAAAAA. heres she izzzzzzzzzzzzzz !

You are thinking of a Mopar 360. This car has its original AMC 360 which is a completely different animal than a Mopar 360. Also AMC did not have a BB version of their motors. They used the same block for every engine and just bored the block out to the appropriate displacement. FYI Ford had a 360 as well.
