Hi all, just wondering if you could identify where these seats originally came from?

Cheers!

Thanks mate, thats exactly what I'm after! :upside down:

How about an A body Barracuda?

the foam shape tells me 67 cuda or 66 satellite. Pops should know better saying 65, as I know he should recognize the lower seat trim being a 66 or 67.
the pattern is just some shops idea of design, as it is clearly new fabric.

67 b-body ? what do the backs look like?

If you measure the mounting points I can check them against our 66 Coronet. I have the seats out at the moment. As said above we need to see the trim to determine what year they are.

This is the other pic I have. Tracks are for a 68-69 b-body now, so no extra info there. I thought they might be from the model previous (66-67), just based on the chrome trim.

I guess the underlying question is, are the frames the same as the 68-69's? I like them as is, but wouldn't mind being able to convert them at a later date.

I've just talked to the guy selling them, Not sure if the tracks are from a 68-69 as they were fitted to a bench car, so the inner track holes would have been drilled to suit. Doesn't stress me but there is one thing that does stress me,

The seats don't 'lock' in place, as in when upright you don't need to lift a latch etc for the seat to fold forward. You can just push them down. So straight up, that wont pass local road worthy, but more so I'm worried that they may have been 4 door seats that have just had the bolt removed that holds the back upright. There is not latch on the side of the seat, nor any evidence of a hole where one might have been on the side. With out going to look, so going from the extra photo's I've seen, I can't see any evidence of a latch system. My assumption is even if they were from a 66-67 that they would have had a latch to hold them upright, yeah?

I'm hoping some could maybe confirm or set me straight on the latching of a 2 door bucket seat?

I can post up some photo's if you need them.

Thanks guys!

Thanks guys, anyone help out about the locking reclining issue? IE they don't loock in place when upright, they just free swing up and down.

Here's a couple of extra pics I have...

I don't think those seats do lock. At least none of mine do and i have 4 66-67 B seats. I think that lever is to slide them forward and backward. As far as i know thats the only way those seats are adjustable, someone correct me if i'm wrong.

Hmmm, Just to be extra specific, because it is hard to explain. These bucket seats dont adjust (recline etc), they are either up right or leaning forward. When they are up right, there is no clasp etc to lock the seat in the upright position. Meaning that if you brake and lean forward, the seat back will also go forward with you. The only thing holding the seat backs upright are there design (gravity) and the person sitting in them.

Is that the same as the ones you have '67Satellite? Sorry, I do get that the lower latch is for forward and back movement but there is not other latch for locking the seat, that's what I've been looking for. or even some indication there was one...

Just having a look around the internet, all the pics of 67 coronet bucket seats I've found show no indication of a latch on the sides: Can't seam to load the others atm.

So I guess, is that the way they came? Are 68-69 bucket seats the same? ie they don't lock in an upright position? The bench seat I have does lock upright, and has a latch on the side to release it and fold forward which is why I'm confused! Can you add the latch mechanism some how?

Thanks again!

Hi Malicious,

I have a set of seats in my 69 coronet that look like yours. When I bought seat covers for them and tried to put them on, the bottoms fit, but the backs didn't. When I called Legendary, they asked me to send pictures of what I had. When they saw the pictures, they told me I had 67 seats. Mine don't lock either. My son has a 69 Roadrunner with the correct seats. They lock in the up rite position. The tracks are the same on both sets. I would say you have 67 seats. That's my guess.

Malicious just as a side note.....how would you ship something like this down under ??

Thanks Blake, exactly what I was after.

Ossietim; If your after this exact set I can put you onto the sell? Other wise, There are quite a few options for USA to AUS shipping. Basically any company that brings in cars will freight over parts for you. Although its pricey, expect about $400ish for a pair of seats. Gov has got a bit fee happy if the importers I've spoken to are to be believed. Plus you have to add postage to CA or WA with in USA on top of that. I've heard good things about eastcoast mustangs, I'd probably go with them unless they quoted really hi prices.

OH one last thing, on seats (or most anything you import) if its new, not used (has to be a verified 'new' seller, IE jeggs, summit etc. ebay is a no go even if the item is new), you'll save a fair chunk of cash on fees. On seats its about $140-160!

I really want buckets, but I think if I can sort out my bench seat rail, I'll just use that for a year or so as it's got a new skin already and is good to go in.

Thanks malicious ,just needed a lead on how to bring large items like this out.
I've shipped a motor out but that was on a pallet.items like seats, pans, trunk lids and such are a little more troublesome .
I'll try that lead :headbang:
cheers
