My new clone is done!

Started off as a pretty solid car I bought from a guy named John here in Florida. I drove it as is for a year or two, but had some rust under the vinyl roof, and a little in the rear quarters behind the tire. I cut out all the rust, welded new metal in. Glass from Show cars...um, that was a poor choice on my part, but luckily my body guy is an expert in glass, so it worked out. New interior, new top, all of the bird parts, the 440 was already strong...bought some cop wheels, new rings and caps, but I still like the ones that are on it...Fenders and hood came from glass Glastek...good stuff, came when they said it would. How much?? Well....the cost of the car..plus the bird parts were about 6000, I did the metal repair work myself...but I paid a guy to help fix the all of the problems with the fiberglass parts that I got..and he helped me put the car together and paint it. The new top, interior, headliner, AC, lots of little parts, fuel tank, sending unit....etc...If you see one that is nice for 30k, you better buy it. I dont want to even think how many hours I have of my time in it...and I am not including that in the price...thought I could do it cheaper, but things just kept adding up.

I always wanted to do a slammed Pro Street bird in Alpine white with a black top.... Great looking ride, I love it! :icon_thumright:

I really like the way you handled that project. I have to ask did you make the nose yourself from a pattern? I want to do one some time in the future after the 67 Coronet is finished. The wing was made by you or did you also have it moulded?

Great job, always wanted a bird since I was 12.....that was not long after they came out.....lol

I ordered the nose and wing from Showcars out of Canada....if I had it to do over, I would probably choose Janak or Stinger fiberglass out of Florida.

This is the only car I would clone..Since real ones are $100,000+++...Looks almost B5 Blue in photo ..Any SB that is not sublime Green is O.K. with me....Rick 70 RR

Personally I think sublime is the best high impact color ever made, but I may be biased.

do you have more detailed photos of the inside of and construction of your nose ??

Beautiful car, and thanks for the build info. You said that the fenders came from Glasstek - were there any fit and finish issues with them? I have almost given up on finding metal fenders for my project, and have only heard BAD things about Showcars.

Thanks!
