I have a 1967 legit L code (440 HP engine) Charger for sale. It needs a total restoration, but all original parts are there. Factory A/C and PDB with DD1 Medium Blue Metallic. Car has been on blocks in my garage since 1990 in the same condition I bought it. Last road worthy in 1976 in KY. I have never started the engine, it turns free with the starter, but condition is unknown.
Perfect build sheet and fender tag are there. And.....original floors and trunk do not need replacement. As seen in the pictures, the car has some sheet metal damage from previous accidents, but is rust is minimal.

I don't believe the engine has ever been removed from the car. The C 440HP block is stamped with an assembly date 5 days prior to the car build date. The carburetor, distributor and air cleaner are original to the car.

It appears somebody replaced the original 741 2.94 rear with 489 unit of an unknown ratio.

At age 67 and after housing it 19 years, I finally must conclude a restoration is not likely. Love the cars, still have my drivers, but I would rather drive than restore.

Asking $6500.00 for this very rare (660 L codes made) early Charger. Even rarer to find one with power disc brakes and factory A/C.

I know these cars quite well, so your questions will expertly and honestly answered.
Thanks, Pat

Nice car. I bought my son's 69 Coronet RT in Front Royal. Some good 440 mopars hiding out that way. Id be interested myself if I didnt already have the 69 coronet, 70RR that gives me hell, 69 barracuda, and lack of garage space...
Good luck

Hi...thanks for your comments. You're right about the 440 mopars...I see them occasionally on the road and at local car shows.
I may, in the future, regret not biting the bullet and restoring this one. But the car has been on the back burner for almost twenty years and moving it to the front burner is unlikely.

Anyway, not many of these 440 cars made in 1967. My experience has taught me one lesson. Relatively speaking, the cost of restoring a higher production numbers 67 Charger is pretty much the same as a lower production. (unless, of course you have to buy a hemi engine to complete the restoration. then all bets are off)

Thanks, Pat

I still have this Charger in the same condition as posted in 2009...and it's still for sale. I'm now 3 years older which makes a restoration even more unlikely than 2009.
Looking for $6K...inside storage for the last 22 years is worth more that.
Thanks for looking.[

That is a neat car! It looks relatively unmolested under the hood too. That is a huge plus.

The first generation Chargers and the first generation Barracudas have something in common....they don't seem to be nearly as collectible as the the second generation versions. Both have a very limited but dedicated following of fans and I am one of those. Personally I have enjoyed stepping off the beaten path of the more popular Mopar collectibles to own and drive these instead.
I wish I had the time, money and energy to restore this one....but I have decided to drive and enjoy the ones I currently own.

That's not a terrible asking price. If I was closer I sure would come look.
There was a 4 speed car, with a solid body, prepped and jambed in the factory blue (B5-ish), for about the same price a couple of years ago.

I agree, every now and then, one pops up, but this is the first I've seen with a/c.

How is it for that special "Charger rust" that eats the tops of the doors, fenders and quarters from the inside out?

You should bring it to Don Garlits next month.

"that special Charger rust" is a new one to me. I guess folks from the coastal areas are more familiar with this kind of rust, but no we don't experience much of that kind of rust and no this car is not trusted from the inside out. It does have the usual rust in the quarter in front of the rear wheels, but even that is very small. The came from KY originally and that state is better than my home state of VA so far as the "rust gremlins" are concerned.
The previous owners were not particularly loving stewards of this Charger as it does have body damage, but minimal rust.
Thanks for your comment.
And.....my other 4 drivers are : 1 - 67 Charger, 1 -66 Charger, 1- 65 Barracuda and 1- 66 Barracuda... so I practice what I teach...I like the early Charger and Barracuda versions.
