Rebuild heater control valve?

69 bee with ac.has the heater control valve on the firewall.looks like its leaking.has anyone tried to replace the rubber seal inside the valve?or am I just better off sending it off for a rebuild?thanks for any info,David.
 
I sent my whole heater A/C box to these guys and they made it look like new,They also sell new remanufactured bypass valves,mine leaked also and the PO had the hoses straight to the heater core,heat was on all the time

Napa can sell you a rebuild kit. When you have it tested make sure they do not exceed 25 psi or the valve will start to disassemble itself. Detroit Muscle Technologies makes a nice gasket kit to rebuild your heater box and as said above Classic Air in Florida has the bypass valve for $70ish. If you end up needed any part let me know I have saved a bunch of A/C heater boxes because everyone throws that stuff out.
