Guys,
I'm helping a buddy work on this car. We found a rebuilt mastercylinder, calipers and installed them but the proportioning valve is not working. We have fluid going to the left front caliper and thats it. Does anyone know where i can get a new proportioning valve?
Thanks

Good question.......Couple options if you can't find one. Use a distribution block (like found in drum brake cars) from Mopar and add a adjustable proportioning valve to the line to the back or buy an aftermarket combination proportioning valve like the one Wilwood sells. How did you troubleshoot the proportioning valve to come to the conclusion it was the issue? A vacuum bleeder off the proportioning valve port for the right front would tell you pretty quick. Good luck.

He is sold out. Thanks for the reply. Why do we think its bad? The rear drums are off the car, the right caliper is off the car with the brake hose dangling. When you push the brake pedal the left caliper works, fluid doesn't go to any of the other brakes. We have fluid coming into the valve, nothing coming out except for the left front, and it barely comes out. We have all the fittings loose and lubed with WD40. Its been sitting since 1988 in a shed with a dirt floor.

Just find a similarly sized car and use it. You'll need to do a little plumbing, but big whoop. All you have in most any of them are 2 lines from the M/C, one to each front wheel and one going to the back. It ain't brain surgery. Just make sure to pick a pretty popular, easy to find and affordable piece and it'll work fine.

We cleaned up the original and put eveyrthing back together. We have front brakes, but not rear. There is a pin thats pulls out at the end of the valve. I have tried both in and out and can't get fluid to the rear. Anyone know how what its for and how it works? I have the rubber line loose at the rearend and nothing is coming out. Can anyone give me any insight? The replacement part we bought looks to be correct but the holes for the brake line flairs are drilled to big and won't seal.
