Currently in the Air Force as a HC-130 crew chief. Been stationed at Lackland AFB,TX (boot camp), Shepphard AFB, TX(tech school), Little Rock AFB,AR (stationed), Enrique Soto Cano, Honduras (stationed), Moody AFB, GA (stationed). Have two Afghanistan and an Africa deployment. Great seeing all the Mopar vets.

Served in the U.S. Navy for 6 years from 1988 to 1994. Served 3 on the U.S.S. William H. Standley CG-32, and the last part of my enlistment on the U.S.S. England CG-22. Learned to drive at 16 with my stepdad on a 1969 Roadrunner with a 440 / 4spd and now restoring a 1969 Roadrunner with a 440 / 4spd. Funny how the sound of the exhaust has had me hooked ever since.

Thanks to all the veterans on this board- and everywhere- who have served our country. I’ve followed this thread for some time but haven’t commented yet.
On Sunday, my wonderful father in law and Army Veteran passed away from a long battle with cancer. He was an incredible man who fought very hard the whole way through, with many ups and downs, but the disease finally got the better of him. He never complained about what he was going through.
He was an airborne paratrooper of the 1st 503rd. He was stationed in North Carolina and always spoke fondly of the military and people he met along the way. In his later years he joined a group called the LRDG – Long Range Desert Group- and they would reenact famous battles. He was proud of being in the Army and was never shy to tell you a story or three from the things he did and saw.
He was an avid outdoorsman, traveler and adventurer. One of his favorite things to do was take his 1989 Jeep Cherokee down to the tip of Baja California from his home in Palm Desert. He has been making that trip since the 1960s. He outfitted his Cherokee with a lot of off road equipment to deal with the rough roads, sand and surprises that fill every mile of this part of Mexico. You could maybe say that his Jeep was possibly his favorite possession of all time, and last year he passed it on to my wife and I when he became unable to drive it. When I met him I had a built up Jeep myself, so I instantly won his approval. The keys to the Cherokee still have the original Mopar tag from the Jeep Dealer where he bought it from.
He really liked my 64 Dodge 330, labeling it a grandma car due to its white paint job and hubcaps on steel wheels.
He had so many friends who have shown their love and support for his family. Everyone loved him.
RIP George Sicre. You will be truly missed & never replaced.

Just installed a new steering wheel and noticed I can pull on the steering wheel and it will pull loose out of what looks like a couplier on the steering rod ?that goes to the steering box ? Big problem ??

Been serving for the past five years. Four of it being on Active Duty at Fort Bragg, North Carolina with the 112th Special Operations/Airborne. Spent some time in Hawaii, Washington, and various parts doing signal missions across the United States. Deployed to the south pacific, or the Jungle to some of the older Vets. Now with the Florida National Guard, not really my lifestyle, plan to ETS in 2015.

I Joined the US Army in 1966 - 1969, SPEC 5, served in West Germany for 30 months in the Ulm-Stuttgart area.
Bought my first runner upon return in 1969 a Triple Black 383 4 speed wish I had that car today

My two Grandfathers served in WWII and my Dad was in the US Coast Guard in the 60's for short time before being discharged for health reasons. I tried to join the Marines in 82 but was rejected for health reasons. Thank you to all who have served !

Tech schools mostly at Sheppard AFB, TX. and also Keesler AFB in Biloxi, MS. (Teletype Maintenance and later combined with DSTE and Crypto)
First duty assigment was supposed to be back at Lackland. Traded with a married guy who had an assigment to Osan AB, Korea. Was there from 1983 - 1986. 2146 Comm Grp.
1986 - 1991 was spent at March AFB, CA. 33rd Comm Gp. Started in Secure Comm. then Quality Control for the group.
Spent 2 years off and on attached with the Secret Service providing communications during the 1988 presidential election. We would set up communications (phone, radio, fax, etc.) where ever the candidates would go including on trains and helicopters. Also set up equipment on presidential motorcade vehicles at the Washington Naval Ship Yard and re-wired the Secret Service phone system during this time.
I loved being in the service and serving our country, but when they told me to change careers into a medical field or get out two days after the initial bombing of Baghdad at the beginning of Desert Storm I decided it was time to get out.
