Chrysler workers canned for drinking on the job reinstated

That's been the biggest "beef" I have had with any union......the workers that cause all the problems never really get fired......the whole idea behind unions when they got started was to make working conditions & wages better......but the unions got to "big" for their own good and caused more problems then they solved......no wonder the Right To Work Laws are being passed around the country.........unions have just cut their own throats......
just my opinion here........

Tony Poe:
He was a U.S. Navy corpsman on Iwo Jima, (Purple Heart Mt. Suribachi) then spearheaded the 10,000 man MONG Army in the Veit Nam Capmpaign, retired CIA officer and the role model for 'Apocalypse Now" Colonel Kurtz (Brando looked just like him)...
His quote: Comunisim is alive and well and thriving in the American Unions.

i daily drive a 40 year old plymouth duster. just imagine how drunk and high they were when they put that car together

Union or not they should have been fired, never rehired or alloyed to work in the UAW ever again, let alone the Auto Industry... How can anyone Big Union supporters or Right to Work supporters, stand up for these type POS people, is beyond me... they are guilty of drinking alcohol & smoking pot, during working hours, at a local park on their lunch break, caught in the act, on camera & audio tape, red handed, their guilty as hell.... What about those actions, that those UAW Union Employee or not, that doesn't warrant them being fired immediately, & denied Unemployment or any other benefits too??... Other than being a Lying *** Politician, you would be fired at any other type of job, for those action.... I'm sure there is some sort of "breech of contract" or termination clause, even at a UAW Union level job, in their blatantly reckless actions, they are putting all the people around them, on the assembly line, in danger & all the people that purchased the Jeeps they were working on, by inferior drunk & high UAW Union employees, at the assembly plant/line are also subject to many issues/danger & probably even opens up a big bag of worms for class action lawsuits, against Chrysler/Jeep.... It's a PR nightmare if nothing else... A bad reputation is much harder to overcome from than a good reputation IMHO.... Hell we had to have regular piss testing at the dealership level, Union & Non Union employees, you would think they would have the same testing at the big UAW Union Ran Auto Assembly Lines... I guess it's really a good thing they didn't have 40oz. Big Gulp or a bunch of McDonald's Fast Food they would have been fired for damn sure...LOL....

I worked in a union shop for 33 years and I used to see this all the time. There are good and bad employees everywhere. The main reason that bad employees stay on the job is mostly because the lower level managers are to lazy to go through the proper steps it takes to get these deadbeats out the door. It's not all that difficult. The union may be there to protect the workers rights but it also protects the employer. I have never seen an employer successfully sued for wrongful termination in a case where a bad employee was fired from a union shop, and I've seen lots of terminations.

I was a UAW representative for many years before retiring. I never got to choose who I would represent. I always represented each and every one of my constituents to the best of my ability; all members were considered equal. If management really wanted to get rid of these dip sh--- though, Jesus Christ couldn't have saved their jobs. Blaming the demise of American manufacturing on the unions because they did a better better job in this case than management did is absolutely ridiculous. Corporate greed and elitism is the root cause.

Sorry but I disagree......the union should of not even bothered.....they should just be fired, ID confiscated, escorted out the door period........no questions asked.......plenty of good honest hard working people that can use those jobs.........

again just my opinion

I hate when that happens. So sorry.

LMAO!
Some cheese with that whine?

Two popular things I see blamed on the "elected man" that existed long before his terms as pres....
Welfare and the auto Unions..
Keep the politcal crap in the political section

Hey it's not politics the community organizer got relected. We can all jump for joy. 4 more years of speeches, higher taxes, spread the wealth, more vacations, a community organizer by trade, which makes him qualified to be president. But he did put in 57 Christmas trees in the white house. That is a good thing right? I always see the drunks in the morning on the way to work they are drinking mad dog 20/20. I think ripple is from a long time ago.

Would your definition of "foreign car" include the Dodge Ram built in Mexico, or the Challenger built in Canada, or does it only include the Honda, BMW, Toyota, Mercedes etc that are built in the US?
I just can't classify canadian built cars the same way. Our relationships are much different. I am very comfortable with cars coming from canada.
