I was watching an old episode of Emergency today and Johnny and Roy drove past a Daytona parked on the street! The episode was from 1972. I thought you guys would get a kick out of it.

I used to watch Emergency ALL the time! Randolph Mantooth, Rampart, IV w D51, Trixie, Oh lord the memories!

I loved that show...when I was 4!!

Based on the true story of the first "EMS" program.

Since Dodge gave them the truck and other vehicles, maybe they still trying to move wing cars off the lot in 72.

How do you not love a strong woman in a nurse's uniform?
I miss those uniforms.

Loved that show as a kid and now watch it on METV. Loving seeing the old cars and the way we did things back then.

That was a great show. A magazine(can't remember which one) did a story where a guy restored one of the trucks they had on the show. I think i've also seen a 69 SB and a 71-2 RR.Love watching the old shows like that just to see the cars and the way they looked back then.

And dont forget: ! 1 Adam 12 1 Adam 12..... see the women.. strange smell and music

I had the hots for Dixie

Well, all I can say is if you didn't have the hots for her, well.......you probably swung the other way. LOL

Here she is decked out for the season.

She was a singer as well... found a couple youtubes of her

Not that this has anything to do with the show but I always had the hots for Maureen Ohara as well...LOL And regard the 1947 version of Miracle on 34th as one of the best Christmas movies ever made

You know Maureen is still kickin. She was a looker fo sho. Them gals back then had somethin these tarts don't have today. Class.

My favorite show as a kid! I remember watching our big Motorola color console tv and getting excited when the NBC peacock came on and hearing the alarm sounds and seeing the engine and squad roll out of the station at the begining. I still get goose bumps.

You're right about women having class Rusty. Julie London was always a good looking woman, even when she got older. She was married to Bobby Troup who played Dr. Joe Early in the show, and she had been married to Jack Webb who produced the show before that.

A bunch of episodes can be seen free on Hulu.

Funny thing about these pics is they don't show the actual '72 D300 they almost always used in the show. This older model appears from time to time in stock footage when the actors aren't shown and the truck is just going down the road. You never actually see Johnny and Roy in this older truck. According to Wikipedia, the '72 truck was 440 powered.

I used to see that after school or on Saturdays.
There is one show where he does some drag racing and there is a Daytona in the group of racers.
