Has anyone used or heard any pros or cons about boom tubes marketed by DR Gas. Kicking around the idea of using them somewhere down the road. :thinker:
Thanks for the opinions

I'm sorry for my ignorance but WTH is a "boom tube", is it the trumpet style Stainless or Chrome ends on the exhaust system ?? or am I way out in left field ??, maybe I'm too old....LOL... maybe a link would help some too...

Ya add me to the dummy list. One of those sub-woofer tubes?
I know ,I know. Its a tube that goes on the exhaust and then lets off a big o backfire like on Uncle Buck.

They are sort of nascar type of exhaust, A flat oval coming out right in front of the rear wheel. I would think they would provide good ground clearance.
I'll post a video and mfr link.

I would like to see them in stainless or chrome.
And I would be concerned about having enough room after headers and before the side outs.

I have run some oval tubing that came out in front of the rear wheels for ground clearance and to clear the sub-frame connectors. It worked well. I never liked the idea of having both bank exit on the same side of the car due to routing. If you have a chassis car or were willing to build an exhaust channel in the floor board I could see using them. Otherwise you are going to have some serious bends in a low hanging exhaust system.

What the fudge, Is that car chrome in the first video or just a realllly nice gloss black paint job?

They are loud and more for offroad use. I've seen them and look at Drgas all the time for the ovalized tubing

Now there's something to think about. Come to think about the latter I've been pondering that issue most of my life.
