The previous owner told me he took the voltage regulator off the car because he put on an MSD setup. The car has no lights working, no blinkers, no wipers nothing. It will crank up but that is the only thing working now. I got the car with the motor and all out of it. I am trying to get it back together and going and I know it does not have a one wire alt so it should be externally regulated.

Shouldn't this car have on and if so where did it go originally? The fire wall in the this car had been smooth out so there are no makings or a place there to go by...

Thanks everyone.. I think the car may have blown all the fuses but I don't know as I have not got to touch it today.. Going to work on it tomorrow and see and would love a good starting point like this.. The PO did leave the voltage regulator in the car in a bucket so I do have it..

Hopefully the attached photos of my 65 Belvedere will show you the routing of the wiring harnesses, the factory location of the regulator and all the other components on your 65 Satellite.

I don't see a ground strap on the motor to the firewall. I just went through this with mine no lights at all until I installed the ground strap from the head to firewall. Good luck and nice car. Lenny

i think your po was a bit confused.the only thing you would remove to install msd ignition is the ballast resistor.the voltage regulator has to do with charging and maintaining a constant voltage.you would be best served, since there is much modification,by getting a wiring diagram and going through step by step.all depends on your electrical knowledge.
