Well it just keeps on coming with the hits on this project of mine. I don't think...in fact I am convinced...that this project was never meant to be. Today I was planning on re-installing my latest re-rebuild in my 1966 Ply Sat Project. All is going smoothly until the install of the left side motor mount bolt to the K-frame. It got stuck as the motor was giving us fits on the alignment and ripped apart at the plate that bolts the insulator to the K-frame.:angryfire:. Just a quick question for you all...I just purchased the Schumacher Creative Services set of Poly-Loc Motor Mount Insulators today. Who, How, What, have any of you experienced by switching to them. I have one of their Torque Strap set ups already and that piece is excellent. The Poly-Locs appear to be of better quality than the ones I had in the first place. Seems we cannot get away from the so called "saving a Buck" these days what with the cheap Chinese, Indian, Korean crap when it comes to our rides. The quality of the ones I started with are just plain lame. Any way...Some feedback would be appreciate...cr8crshr/Tuck

I bought Poly-Loc mounts from Mancini Racing; I'm assuming they are the same mounts. I put them in my 69 RoadRunner w/440. It was a nice fit and all the hardware worke fine- should be an easy job for ya!

I'm curious as well, because as Cr8 said, motor mounts are plain crap there days. One of my concerns about the poly lock Shumacher mounts is vibration isolation. Do they transfer more vibration into the car?

Damn TUCK, sorry to hear about the probs youre having on your project.....ive had a few cars in my day, and the hardest lesson i HAD to learn was this......if it wasnt made for the car, dont use it. i would think a stock set of motor mounts with a chain on the drivers side would work as good if not better than aftermarket. in fact, thats EXACTLY what i did on my 66 Belvy....so far no probs. the stuff and garbage they make today cant compare to the original old stuff. trying to retro fit things that are"supposed to work"...often just dont and baldness will be a result.(pullin your hair out) . i have a 66 charger that im working on with a buddy of mine and he tries to take the cheap way out.....only to get bitten and waste money on stuff he cant use or get rid of. im constantly bitchin' at him ( imagine that) to get the right stuff. hope ya get things sorted out coz id love to see that car of yours!

Well they are supposed to arrive today late in the afternoon so I won't be able to get them put together and on the motor till tomorrow. Thawing out a Tri Tip or Brisket if you prefer for tomorrow as we are having a spat of mild weather here in CA. So the motor will go back in and get it married up to the Tranny, etc. Then fire up the grill for some Beef, Brats and beer. I'm with you on the logic of "Pay me now or Pay me later" when it comes to these builds. I am all for saving a Buck where I can but this has just been a nightmare on this build. I firmly believe that all things have a soul. Yes even Cars and this one just won't be satisfied until I put the best stuff into it as it seems to reject every thing I have done so far. But I have come this far and won't quit till its back together and fired up. After that if it still isn't working properly, I am gonna cut my losses and sell and move on to my other passions which are Golf and Model Railroading. Need to be chasing that Dimple Ball as I have neglected it now for the past 3 years. And yes if you ask...I am Damn good at it for an early 60's Golfer.....
