I won't be buying any soon but can't make up my mind. What do you think? I really like the foose wheels which are the ones in the box. View attachment 99184View attachment 99185View attachment 99186 xlr_daytona.jpg

I like the ones are the charger but it's your car.

last one--make sure there are tires t o fit them--hard to get 15's-in certain styles unless the bank is broken

rims are really a personal selection

rims/wheels are like jewlery, your own specific taste, of the ones you showed the ones on the Charger would be my 1st choice of those... here are a few I like, mostly American Racing, Rockets & Cragers, last is my favorite the old stand-by, Polished Halibrands

the ones in the box above are cool too... I would have an accent or contrasting color on mine, if it was me...

I like the ones on the 68 Charger from the selection, its a hard decision when it comes to wheels with what color to go with painting the car close by.

I like the ones on the Charger. Can you give us a clue about what they'll be goin on? MG Midget or what?

Definitly very hard to choose what style rims w/o knowing what car you have and what color it'l be

We need a picture of your car to bombard you with opinions! The black car in the OP... is that yours?

If it is, I'm such a fan of the older classic style rims on our cars... I'd go with Magnum 500's. Hey, you asked. :)

lee.jpgThis obviously isn't my car but this is the car I'm modeling mine after "minus the general lee paint job & brush guard". I've really done my homework on what I want, car shows, magazines, internet, you name it but these guys knocked it out of the park on this car "for me". It has 19"s in the rear 18"s in the front, before you say anything about the rims they were custom made by budnick for the car (Kenny Wayne Sheppard's). I watched this car being built on Rides and much to my surprise it is very close to stock, K member, Torsion bars, rear leaf suspension, it isn't even tubbed. It does however have 2" drop spindles and I think the leaves are custom. My car will be tanglo pearl (BRIGHT ORANGE, just look at my avatar) with charcoal grey rump stripe, taillight panel and hood (with the American Flag painted in three shades of the grey. The hood is already painted minus the orange, check out resto mod charger under projects and restorations. I really hate picking out wheels, the ones that alot of you guys like really don't look that nice when just looking at them but as soon as you see them on a car they are sweet. I've checked into tires and they are available but the options for 19"s really narrows down quick. The biggest problem I'm having is getting the width and offset that I want (10" wide 0 offset 12" wide tire), it pretty much narrows it down to the custom made to your order manufactures with a few exceptions. Another thing that narrows it down is the fact that I can't stand chrome or cast aluminum, I've had nothing but bad luck with both. I had American Racing rims (cast aluminum center, chrome outer) the chrome needed constant attention and the cast flaked all of the paint off and turned a nasty grey color. I purchased Weld Pro Stars for replacements and never had a problem again.

i also just put 19 x 10 rear 18 x 8 front i went with boze shifters with black centres and the mopar m engraved in the centre cap.

when i was looking for wheels i really like these companies so you can give them a look if you want, but it comes down to your desision. my wife actually helped me pick the wheels cause i couldnt decide.

Boze
rushforth
budnick

also to your question, the 19 x 10 rear is 5.634 custom backspace that puts my wheel directly in the centre of the arch, the only decent tyres i could find and have bought are the bf goodrich g force kdw 2 in a 295 35 19 rear and a 245 40 18 front that puts the tire height difference between front and back at only 3 mm. here is a couple of links that will also help you out.

I really like the salt flat rims and the top ones but they scream Ford Cobra. Unfortunetly they don't come in the size I want either.

When you say centered are you taking into account the bulge that sticks in on the outer wheel tub? I cut the bulge out and fabbed in new metal to make more room, with that done I put a straight edge on the axle and measured 7" both ways (0 offset). I remember you posting a picture of your wheels on one of my post "very nice". Have you fired that thing up yet?

No midget hear, my first car was a Beatle though if that counts? I had it mostly done but when it came time to build the motor I lost my motivation and bought an American V8. They are for a 69 charger

There 's a thread over at www.DodgeCharger.com forum, I think it's, in the general discussion or car guy discussionforum maybe, about some very nicely done, Pro-Touring Chargers, or Pro-Touring Mopars/Muscle Cars or something like that title, sorry I don't have a link, but there's allot of gen 2 68-70 Chargers photos wheel/rim styles/sizes etc., along with the stance & wheel/tire style/look you after, you may want to go over there, check out a few, for ideas & then come back here to FBBO of coarse...

no fire yet, rear main leak, sorry i was previously wrong my BS is 5.6 which is slighttly inwards of the outer bulge, i have not cut mine out yet as my car was restored when i bought it, but next time it goes in for a full resto say in 10 yrs i will be doing alot of body mods
