I just purchased a set of cop wheels for my 70 Super Bee. They are 15x8 w/ 4.5" backspace. What's the widest tire I can put on the rear with a stock stance? Also, what width do you recommend for the front? Thank you in advance for your advice. Nicholas
 
No Sweat...hope it helps. BTW...running 275-60-15's on 8" rims with 4.5" backspacing on my '69 Roadrunner in the rear. Have just shy of 1.25" clearance in my wheel wells on either side

Hi Nicholas: Have run 295x50x15 on 8 inch "cop" rims in back on my '69 'Bee, no problems at all. You could run 10 inch wide wheels with 5 inch backspace and 295X60X15 in back like I'm doing right now with no sweat! Fills up wheel wells really nicely. No problems.

Just put 275/60R15 (28X11.50R15) Mickey Thompson ET Streets on my 8" wheels, w/ 4.5" back space on my 70 Bee. And I am not as happy as I could have been. I have about 2" of clearance on the inside of my closer tire/fenderwell measurement. Could have easily went with 295/55R15 (28X12.50R15) with 5" or 5.5" back spacing. probably go with 9" or 10" wheel next time, and go with the wider tire then too. I should have known. I have had 295/50-15 BFG's on there forever, and they had lots of room on both sides.

Dang it. Guess I have no choice but to melt these M/T's down as quickly as possible so I can get the correct size tires on there. I am just thinking of the safety of the children!
