anybody out there with some recomendations ? these are heavy doors and i dont want to go cheap or get locked out.... any kits to stay away from? any threads on installing these. sorry,should read shaved door handle kits.

Dog, Its usually a kit with plates to weld in the door handle holes to eliminate them. And then a set of solenoids and relays and switches to gain access to the car from , usually under the car somewhere or under the hood. Like Rusty says ChEEEEsy. I don't like that look on Mopars.
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHH...ok.... like whats on the 40's hot rods that have no door handles , and ya sit there wondering how the hell ya get in the damn thing... i never knew what that was called....thanx!

I shaved the doors on my 66' Barracuda, it looked great but later on I regretted it. It wasnt the worth the hassle, to many opportunities to get locked out of the car.
just looking for quality kit. guess i will do some research?
all i can think of is............." if that breaks...how the HELL do ya get the doors open ? "
My heating guy has them on his car and there is a cable under the car you pull in emergencies (like dead battery).

Benno they're illegal in australia if they are electronic only. If you get an engineers report (at least on an SR registration) you can have manual (with electronic as well) door poppers / shaven doors.
Mopar505, if your serious, check out the hot rod forums. They'll give you some advice on quality. When I was looking into it for my '50 Plym a while back, one of the things that I was looking at was manual 'springs' to have the door 'pop' out on there own. There are some spring still L shaped 'poppers' that you bolt into the door jam that will sprint the door open once the latch has released. I'd be getting them as a secondary back up in case of the electronic poppers failing.

HAMB is too 'traditional', they'll happily crucify you for even typing 'ratrod' so I doubt the general user there will want to help. But there are plenty of other forums that will help. Might just be worth a google for 'door popper' and 'shaved door handles'.
Don't get me wrong, I really like HAMB, but they are VERY narrow minded generally.

I can imagine working on the car, going back and forth from under the hood to the drivers side, always having to carry a remote. Or a dead battery. sounds like a huge hassle to me.
